Hmmm ... the 9:05am now has two row 4 occupants! (WP1/CL?)

Wondering if I might book VA on the way up to get a front row economy seat ...

There are now 3 occupied seats, but I don't know who would pick a middle seat... Must be that Hancock fella ... Unless it is hvr's WP1 shadow, but then shouldn't it appear as blocked?

I hear that the guy in 4D is a pretty nice bloke

I have caved to peer pressure (and row 4 filling up) and booked the following on Sat 22 Feb 2014.

QF610 MEL (dep 09:05) - BNE (arr 10:15)
QF637 BNE (dep 19:10) - MEL (arr 22:30)

tuapekastar, it looks like I am following you again

My understanding is that the Platinum One team like to make sure that Platinum One members are not lonely and find a suitable lower status passenger to sit next to them. Well that's what the boss says anyway!!

Just saw the Melbourne White Night event is again scheduled for the same day (just as it was last year).

Coming though the CBD it was "Jumping" (mind you it was nicely warm)

Perthite and I were on the earlier flight (departed 5pm, arrived 8:15) and he dropped me off near Finders St station after a bit of a crawl up that fine road due to road blocks and heavy traffic.

I missed my 8:55pm train by 30 seconds so went across the Yarra River to BearBrass for a cooling Schooner of Cider before catching the next train 30 minutes later.

Home and crashed by 10:30pm after a 5am wakeup.

Although I don't think it would be too bad if we (driving) could avoid the city... Although Skybus would be quite quick to get to SC if you could catch a train without too many drunk teenagers on it...

Updated to here. Hvr & serfty, can you please confirm your flight details.

On Thursday, I will meet and be confirming the attendance by the Qld RGM. Similarly, on 20th August I'll be confirming the attendance of the QC Manager.

Have not booked yet, but will do so this week.

VA are $99 + $7.70 ≈ $107 but no in flight catering (not much really on QF for that matter).

I may fly up with VA at ~9am and back on QF at 5pm for $119 - will probably upgrade the return as it's a meal flight.

OK I'm on board the party plane - AKA QF637/22FEB. There was nobody else in row 1

QF WP pop me to Gold status please, and I'm a WP1 now. Looks like it will be quite the event!! I can't remember the last one I was at but I think it was in the days where I had to piggyback on someone else's access to get in. Now I'll be under my own steam!!

cheers folks!

Now what else will the crowd in Row 4 feel about being dumped?

I think I now know what the P1 team means by "unusual requests" they can "help with" - I wonder if I call and request to only have good company next to me? I already asked them for good looking young ladies only, but I got the impression I may be downgraded to Bronze if I ask that again!!!!

I have a feeling most of the "party plane" FT members will be trying to upgrade, and successful, so I got in early to secure my spot with the good folk and another QF J dinner service.....

The 10% off VA reduces the total cost to $98 so I am close to booking the 9am VA flight - row 4 on the QF flight was getting comparatively crowded.

That way I can use both VA and QF lounges at my leisure.
