Nothing close to it. It’s more like being stuck on a big upright, partially reclinable train seat with a footrest. At least on the 737-9 Max or whatever they are flying.

That's reasonable,, usual fares for this are indeed extortionate for what amounts to premium economy.

Do yourself a favor by considering a layover in Iceland though.

Yes.

Give what economy class fares are like nowadays for US-Europe-US travel, this fare seems more fair.

This is indeed closer to a premium economy product for TATL flying than a business class one.

booked this for two for next April.

DEN-Iceland-LGW Denver to London. I booked 3 days in Reykjavik on the return trip. $800 x2 = $1,600.

Thanks!

Having just been for 7, packing something into every waking moment, were I going for just 3 I'd make sure on one day to see the Golden Circle sights, on your own with a car or via one of the many organized tours. On another, book "The Ritual" at the Retreat Spa on Blue Lagoon to really enjoy the mineral rich geothermal waters in a way that doesn't feel like being in a public pool.

Do the suites have doors? 😂

P.S. I have flown Iceland air a few years ago on one of the similarly priced trips (they had a lease of an A330 on KEF-AMS actually with lie flats for 2.5 hrs). During that trip, I promised, I will not fly it again no matter how cheap it was. Nothing against Iceland Air, just it was a never-ending flight on the way back. Reminded of UA 757 flights from IAD - just keeps going and going.

It is a matter of expectations and perspective.
If you normally fly F/J with lie-flat seats, then this feels like a step down. But if you are usually with the great unwashed in the back of the bus, then this is a definite step up for a price comparable to current coach fares to Europe.
It is also definitely worth taking advantage of the stopover option.

Icelandair does NOT have lie flat seats.
Icelandair does NOT have flat beds.
Icelandair business class seats are similar to domestic US first class seats. This is called Saga Class. Confusingly, their mileage program is also called Saga Club.

This seems a bit confusing and I don't think its been spoken to before:
Does IcelandAir not have flat beds, or do they not have lie flats?
