Look like the SFO-SIN-HKG rt fare is dead. They still have sub-$1000 fares to HKG but they only allow direct routing or SFO-LAX-TYO-HKG.
I should have booked earlier. It didn't occur to me that they might pull it before it expired. ☹️

The fare is R-coded. It's not eligible for upgrade awards. Even if it was, that doesn't sound like a valuable use of your KrisFlyer miles.

This ends tomorrow. FWIW you can also fly out of NYC, nonstop, for about the same price. That's a little more than 19k miles round trip. It's also a lot of hours in a seat
Unfortunately they pulled all the fares that allow connecting or stopping in SIN and backtracking to a more eastern point in Asia.

I have no idea how to do this. Are there any particularly good / easy to use ones? Will they still book into the same fare class (for mileage earning purposes?)

They generally work exclusively through travel agents. There are a number of very established consolidators that have decades-long relationships with the airlines they market. I have booked tickets for clients using them with great results. Booking class varies, but at this price point, it's a "P" class ticket on SQ.

If you're serious about booking and want access to that kind of fare, one good option I'd recommend is PMing the TA that you quoted in your post. I've had a good experience so far.
