The bummer about these ST fares is they often have a 3 month cap on the return. Good price though if you can use the return in that time period. EU based folks were using these to get a relatively cheap EU-US roundtrip embedded in the CMB-EU ticket using stopovers.
ST and Colombo reminds me of the old NW CMBSPLK fares from the last decade, although those routed via the Pacific.

BTW- the AF/KL fares CMB-JFK are usualy a few hundred less than LAX, less miles but a great deal if only going to the East Coast of the US. For these newly filed fares, looks like $1600 RT CMB-JFK.

I'm trying to learn the lingo.

Are the DL flights JFK-LAX-JFK referred to as "marketed" by KLM?

How are the MQDs calculated for the DL operated flights from JFK-LAX-JFK?

Is it the same calculation for the DL flights AMS-JFK and JFK-AMS?

Thanks!

In the example that was provided by the OP, the flights all have KLM flight numbers which is an indicator that they're marketed by KL. Since they are marketed by KL, they would earn MQM, MQD and RDMs based on the KL partner earning chart on delta.com, including the segments that are operated by DL.

With these being Z fares, they should earn MQDs based on 40% of miles flown for all segments.

KLM will stop flying to CMB at the end of the winter schedule.

Unless you are dead set on being on KL metal, that wont be a problem as the fare rules permit many other combinations to get to Area 2. Flights via India, DXB and AUH should work for the variants of this fare.
