Sof if you cut yourself shaving and use peroxide on the cut do you get a free one-way ticket to Gitmo?

Also, Benzoyl Peroxide is used in some shave creams, or for acne treatment... so they should catch some dangerous people with this test...

That only make sense if you feel the need to declare your liquids to the screener. Even now you can carry on larger amounts of liquids if you declare them to be medical necessities. You can't make TATP on board. If you want to smuggle more than 3oz. on board you don't put in carryon.

While I agree with your statement, it has nothing to do with explosives or the screening thereof.

I don't buy that. Other TSO's have said those things can be configured to detect just about anything out there ... even drugs. Why not TATP?

But here's another thing, x-rays don't detect explosives either, yet they're still used for explosives detection. By TSA's logic, the puffers should be used to detect TATP then if what you say is true.

Under new TSA rules these larger amounts of liquids will now be tested, e.g., breast milk, contact/eye solution, medicines, et al.

Only if you declare them.

Come on, DCA TSO, you have been posting here a long time. Like every repressive government agency, the TSA has spawned an entire culture dedicated to avoiding dealing with it. You now have an entire underground thumbing their noses at the TSAs idiocy.

Detecting good people forced into circumventing bad regulations prevents you from addressing actual issues. That is why Skeletor and Hawley are fools. They are actively encouraging the average citizen to become screens for terrorist activity.

Here's a good place to read about TATP and why it can't be detected by standard mass spectrometry techniques (i.e., ETP & ETD):

http://www.tfot.info/articles.php?itemId=35/

Also you will see a device that might be the thing TurboProf saw used at FRA.

Aw, come on birdstrike, don't force me to suggest to TSA HQ that they send all cargo pants-wearing passengers down for additional screening.

Thanks. I have it open in another tab. I'll read it later when I get some time at work.

If they are short pants, and they are also wearing aloha shirts, feel free to throw the book at them.
