I don't buy that. Other TSO's have said those things can be configured to detect just about anything out there ... even drugs. Why not TATP?
But here's another thing, x-rays don't detect explosives either, yet they're still used for explosives detection. By TSA's logic, the puffers should be used to detect TATP then if what you say is true.
