But if you're going to pontificate your philosophy here, then be courageous enough to follow it up with ACTION. I'm genuinely curious to find out what happens.

I screen every bag and every passenger with the utmost attention to detail. I read up on the SOP during my own personal time so that I can remain proficient. I treat every passenger courteously, and if they're having a bad day, I don't let it affect me. I don't let them get under my skin.
I make on-the-spot corrections whenever needed ("behind the woodshed") and I praise officers in public whenever they do something that deserves praise.
That's how I do business.

I am very confident that SATTSO, TSORon, gsoltso and some of the other TSA employees who participate in this forum go the extra mile to help passengers and make their screening experience as stress-free as possible. So I have plenty of room to talk about customer service.
If you want to make the mistake of confusing my personal comments shared here with you and others with how I conduct myself on the job, then you better check those oxygen tanks of yours. They're affecting your thinking.

Just do not deny that the 20% exists and that they are problems. It might even be 0% at your airports and 75% at some others, I have not done a detailed study, but the average is about 20% that are very, very difficult and stress inducers, not reducers.
