Feedback for CBSA
I sent them an email today outlining my observations. I don't expect a reply, but would they actually take me seriously?
I wrote to tell them I was randomly selected to be interviewed at customs at YVR. While I was waiting, I observed there was no regard for privacy. Some poor soul was being interrogated. We all heard whether or not he has a criminal record, his job, his family situation etc. Also there was no regard for our time. Fortunately some officer walked by and responded to my concern that my connecting flight was in 45 minutes. He looked over my pport and let me be on my way.

There rarely is when it comes to security, immigration and customs.
Actually, it looks like there was regard for your time in this case; consider yourself lucky. At most stations, you could have easily missed your flight.

I presume you are taking about the back to back counters for Immigration and customs secondary as opposed to the old fast flow counter in what used to be CIC Immigration secondary?
Trust me from my point of view they are not ideal for talking to anyone with any degree of privacy and the older style counters are much better.
Unfortunately Vancouver is the brave new world of CBSA intergration where a legacy customs officer will have to perform Immigration secondary and vice versa.
