Hi, My wife and I are headed to the Seattle-Vancouver area for a 10 day vacation in May. Can anyone suggest some of the better restaurants from this list http://restaurant.com/listings.asp?pgn=gcp ? Basically we can get a $25 cert. for $5 using the discount code that expires 02/15 for 50% off 49522 at checkout. But there are probably alot of marginal restaurants in this area, as there are in our home Central Florida area, that we want to stay clear of. Thanks.

Here are 2 that I found under Northwest Cuisine. There are so many to choose from, dont know really where to go. Some of the restaurants require a party of 4, while we only have 2 dining. Most have a min. food purchase of $35 to use the $25 cert. So any suggestions would be appriciated.

I never realized that so many places had the "minimum 4 entrees" requirement. I'm sorry, but I'm unfamiialr w/ these two choices.

Both of these places are in the Univeristy area. Not an area noted for great ambiance.

Did you notice the odd addresses? Granted, I graduated 2 years ago, but if they were good places, you would have thought that I would have heard something about them.

Kai's would be in the U district, probably the best thing going there, which really isn't saying much.

Union Bay Cafe is one of the better restos in Seattle. It is known for wine dinners, genteel dining, great local ingredients and a neighborhood feel. It is rated pretty high in the zagats guides and I would definitely eat there if I had an opportunity.

Let me look at the list a bit more.

I can definitely chime in on the local food guide - ravenna/bryant/laurelhurst/sand point. There is actually food here.

Thanks for the heads up! Will try and get the above mentioned cert. Friends and I joke about how our Central Spacecoast area is a culinary wasteland for dining out. There are plenty of blue-hair diners AKA frozen seafood troughs with early bird specials. Not that we are trained chefs, but most times, with waits and crowds, we usually make the best of it at someones house with some online recipies with either bison, fresh fish from Port Canaveral or Maverick chicken or beef from Publix and some nice wine.
