I don't mean venues like stadiums or amphitheaters, more like just casual bars, restaurants, or places like that where you can get a table - or seat at the bar - and catch some local bands. Rock, indie, folk, or whatever. Wasn't planning on renting a car so I'm trying to stay close to downtown, unless there is somewhere special worth making the trek.

We only have a few hours in Seattle and want to do Chihuly and the Needle. What's the best deal out there? Any discounted websites like Groupon?

Not aware of any Groupons, but they both sell a combo ticket that ends up with a ~40%+ discount on the pair.

Chihuly deal

The Chihuly has a direct deal which worked for us. Show up at 7 pm (2 h prior to closing) and get $5 off admission & complimentary starter or dessert with any entree (incl. burgers) in the cafe. The last seating in the cafe is at 8 pm, so we spent one hour in the garden and one hour enjoying dinner. Nice way to end the day!

The newest Light Rail Link Station is now open: Angle Lake Station just south of SeaTac. While this won't be a big deal for those trying to get to the airport from the city and vice versa, it's definitely helpful if you're staying at an airport hotel located a bit further down International Blvd. Most of them offer complimentary shuttles to and from the airport and even within the area, but if you want to go to Seattle, you might as well start your trip at Angle Lake Station - it's just a short walk from the Holiday Inn Express, for example. It's definitely quicker than taking the shuttle to the airport and walking to the station there!

Best new restaurant to open in Seattle recently is Copine in Ballard.
