I think we can make this the Best Visitor's Guide on FT! ^ |
Excellant resource chexfan! ^
It looks like you forgot West Seattle in Neighborhoods section. The WS Junction web site is useful as well. A walk along the beach at Alki and Fish & Chips at Spud's is always on our list when we visit Seattle. We also enjoy a stroll through Lincoln park with its views and beach, and often take in Ferry ride from Fauntleroy to Vashon or Southworth (seeing as the Fauntleroy terminal is directly next to the park). |
Wow! Admirable effort already!
Any plans to include any information on hotels? One of the things I get asked about all the time (living in Victoria) is how easy it is to visit between Vancouver, Victoria and Seattle. I find lots of folks would like to combine some of these (and also Whistler). Don't know if you want links for this to add to your Beyond Seattle category or not, but here are a couple I am aware of: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299539 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299529 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299522 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299507 Or maybe this is something you are planning for your Seattle Excursions section? |
A FOAF might have to live in Seattle for a while, could you please add a section on what neighborhoods are (or are not) desirable to live in? What routes are (or are not) desirable for commuting?

I'm sure if you start a thread you'll get some help though! |
Great effort Chexfan. As a Seattle escapee (me) to Bellingham, you have covered just about everything I know about the Emerald City. With the Olympics coming, you might include a little about little ole Bellingham as it is certainly growing, is the last stop before Canada and has some pretty cool things to see and do. If interested PM me and I will be glad to give you some info. I also did a long message on a thread with hints about crossing the border into BC which I can send you also.

Chexfan, I really appreciate your Visitor's Guide. I moved away from the Seattle area 2 years ago after living there for half of my life. Viewing your guide left me feeling very homesick. What I miss most about Seattle is the nature around the city. What do you think about adding a section of nearby parks? Let me know if you want help. A

Great job, chexfan!
My mother lives in Lacey, so I'm up that way quite a bit. I'm a Greener as well :) Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and the Olympic Peninsula rainforest deserve a mention. Perhaps add the Talgo to the King St. Station section or "getting there". The State Capitol is within driving distance... |
Holy Moley! Haven't you been a busy beaver! Congrats on the great visitor's guide. I <3 Northlake Pizza. Let's add some "unique" eating areas in each of the neighborhoods. I can help if you want.
