In case you've wondered, I decided earlier on to just lurk on this thread until now. Truthfully, it got off subject rather quickly. Let me answer the original question. To echo the comments of others, I actually don't know what the record for the first days posts are. We rarely go into anyone's files for this purpose (or any other for that matter). I do know that I enjoy just looking at the various opinions expressed on this board and am somewhat amazed of the quality that comes from some of the new posters, thoug hthey may just have one or two comments to share. I also enjoy the marvelous input that some others have extended to several topics of interest to me. The answer lies in a beer commercial which I don't think ever had an answer - More taste, less filling (or was that... less filling, more taste?)

Randy .. to take the topic even more sideways, (and apologies in advance for that!) but it is vaguely related .. this thread is coming up soon to 100 comments logged onto it. Has anyone noted the "record number" of responses logged to any one posting? Just curious! Maybe you or one of the old hands knows the answer?
Sure, this one here has a string of eventually futile repeat posts by one person, and I guess that could happen on any thread, (which would be a nuisance for all concerned) but the number of genuine responses to a single thread is what my question relates to.

Thank you Rudi. The OMNI Award winning "Who We All Are" thread is one of the BEST FLyertalk threads ever.
And that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

But unless my ozzie math is wrong, the 100 posts to this SINGLE thread take the all-time record?

Who we all are is one of my all-time favorite threads on the board and it probably is a record holder, though i think if we were to glue together a few of the busted threads on the LatinPass promotion, it might give even that one a run for the money. As it is, I'm very comfortable in the recollections of our historian - Rudi - to annoint Who we all are as the thread winner....and growing.

OK .. see it now ... my oversight - the way my screen laid it out the 177 was at right, and the other numbers in black were all to left, and thats what I looked at, and missed the 177.
However, just trawling around the boards, I saw another one just now with 178 responses, so maybe that takes the record!
