Record as a first day poster

Randy,

What is the record for the most post in a member's FIRST day ? 21 is pretty impressive, considering most of them are new topics.

The only important thing should be the quality of the posts, not the quantity.

There is one on these boards who has set a record for the number of "Cut and paste posts", yet has added little to our knowledge of issues of importance to frequent flyers.

Some look only to criticize.

Others look only to contribute.

We all know who is who.

Diversity makes FT and the world go 'round!

Meanwhile, here's a site you'll likely enjoy!

Basically, WHO CARES!!! how much one posts on a first day or any day.

If someone makes one post that is chock full of valuable TRAVEL RELATED INFORMATION! -- rather than more than a dozen average posts -- then that's the reward for us.

COMMANDER CATCOP say let's move on. There hsa to be something travel related that we can TALK about!

Catman purred the words right out of my mouth.

Dr.Pfp, I for one appreciate the aforementioned cut and paste "bandit" that you alude to because the person brings helpful and relevant information to the boards that I may not have otherwise been able to find on my own. In that sense, quantity is quality.

dsimon,

You leave Dr. PfP out of this. He is always taking care of people and not averging 500 posts per month. When Dr. PfP speaks, people should listen. I know I do.

All I can say is there were very few posts that I haven't learnt a thing or 2 off of. Nobody is holding a gun to my head to click on to or off any thread,I firmly believe in the FREEDOM to POST what ever and when ever as long as its on the proper thread. Anyone who doesn't care for some one doesn't have the right to deny me the ability to read anyn post!!! Dr (and NOT doc) get a LIFE!! and stop clicking onto the posts if it indicates a certain started it. But how dare you to deny me the right to if I wish to.DOC keeping posting and let ME decide which if any of your posts I wish to read.

well said craz - like that part about "as long as it is on the right thread"
but i hope that some day in the future we can have names of thread starters attached to "todays active topics"

Craz: I am not denying you anything nor am I adovocating limiting Doc's FREEDOM to POST. He can post all he wants!

I am merely exercising my freedom to think he is an ******* for his CNN cut-and-paste antics, I-travel-everywhere-yet-I-can-post-10-times-a-day-every-day-of-the-week output, keep replying to his own threads so they continually show on top , calling names whe he's criticized attitude, and the I am never wrong ego.

Diversity does keep the world go 'round, and like it or not, people like doc keeps it interesting. Keep posting everyone.

Mrs. PfP, leave Dr. PfP out of this?

My recollection is that I did not criticize anyone the way that the Dr PfP criticized Doc. I was merely offering my favorable opinion of Doc's posts. If you are not interested in news or media stories, than it is your privilege not to read them. What difference does it make to you how many posts Doc, or anyone else for that matter, has?
For Dr. PfP to assert that Doc's posts "have added little to our knowledge of issues..." is just ridiculous. If you think that his posts are not adding to people's knowledge, than it is perfectly lucid that you are not reading his posts with any clarity.
My response to Dr. PfP was not a fraction as inflammatory as what he wrote to Doc, or what you wrote to me for that matter; talk about posts that lack any form of substance...

Doc:

I think a lot of us would appreciate your newslinks even more if you would offer some commentary or analysis on the articles you post.

One could easily otherwise just run a news clipping search (try www.1stheadlines.com where there's a handle specifically dedicated to travel) outside of WebFlyer and come up with the same articles you do, in which case it would not be necessary for your *multitudinous* posts to reserve as many WebFlyer resources as they do.

And by commentary or analysis, I do not mean merely parroting the first few sentences or paragraphs of the article!

Quality, not quantity.
