I ask one of the serious well-known posters to inform with a seperate thread if there is really some feedback from Randy/Flyertalk here - because I don't want to open this thread again and again and waste my time (and I am embarrassed how the host of 'our' board is appoached here).
Until further serious notice elsewhere - enjoy this thread without me.

It still amazes me that folks think Randy is "obligated" to act on their behalf. And that spamming this thread with "...." is an appropriate act.
I am out of this thread. Goodbye.

I am so happy that a "serious" poster could bless us with his presence on this topic. Surely we are not worthy. I guess that I have never been considered a "serious" poster!
Anyway, this is Randy's thread. We have asked for a response from Randy, not anyone else.
.... is a universal sign for "waiting" (not spamming as other would have it). I would guess that all of you checking in on this topic notice that there are additional posts and are also "waiting" for some kind of reply (either that or you are looking to witness, flaming -tantamount to watching the aftermath of cars accidents I guess).
Therefore, as much as been said and done on the subject, I still exhort all those who visit here and are waiting for a comment, answre whatever to leave a .... post.
(Oh, BTW, I must have seen at least a 100 smiley faces from a certain "serious" poster over the last year or so...)

It would have been much better to not have the comment about Randy being interested. It raised expectations.
I have just squeeked by into SM status the past couple of years. I don't fly internationally and really only buy L and now U fares so the upgrades are few and far between for me so with my present travel pattern none of this affects me.
It is true that Randy is our host and I truly appreciate everything that he has done for us in providing this forum. Randy is well respected within the travel industry and I belive that he has the respect and admiriation of just about all of us.
I am dissapointed that he has not had the time or desire to at least peak his head in the door here. This thread could have ended long ago with a simple comment from Randy. Anything at all.
I recall a few other threads where he was going to be "off to see MCI" or write about AA's fee to redeem mileage awards, etc., only to never see any further mention of those topics from him again.
Maybe he has just decided to not be involved at all, which is certainly well within his rights. Hopefully Randy will at some point be able to clear this up with a new topic about what the members of this community should and should not expect from him. That would certainly put a stop to all of this and the possibility of similar happenings on other topics in the future.
Hope that all made some kind of sense

hfly - there is another live chat with Randy tomorrow.
geo - I am inclined to agree with you about the tone of some of the posts (and I am as hacked off with Delta as anybody). However, Randy could have put this thread (and others) to bed a month ago by posting two words, "no comment", or three words "I can't comment".

As the originator of this thread I feel that I approached Randy with respect.
Since I have been a member of FT, I have gleaned wonders of information from it and like to think I have left my share of gems.
This board is a wonderful resource for all of us flyers. However, it is also a wonderful resource for every company and product we discuss at such a level of minutia no "paid" focus group could ever compete.
It is also a wonderful resource for our "host" and our host's businesses.
I consider FT one of the rare instances in the world (and certainly the internet) where everyone profits at no cost.
Yes, I approached Randy because of "who" Randy is in the business world, but I also approached Randy because I consider him one of us--another guy out there sitting in seats on planes; the common bond that allows this forum to work so well.
I know from one of QuietLion's trip reports that Randy doesn't get treated any better than the rest of us (at least on UA) because QL was in F and Randy was in Y. I assumed he'd have an opinion on this (the Delta matter) and he'd want to share it; I remember reading an article (somewhere) where Randy was quoted (about a year ago) saying that he was trying very hard for Gold Medallion for next year (whatever year it was)--so I got the feeling he flew DL.

Thank you Randy for your comments tonight in the live chat re: "the Delta question".
I look forward to your thoughts and "inside information" on Monday.
Again, thanks for your time.

I had a private chat with Randy and he seems to have the situation well in hand. He is prepared to help us and has been working on the problem. He needs a few days, but is quite sincere in what he plans to do.
I believe that those who may have doubted him may owe a huge apology. I really think that we have a chance of getting this thing overturned.

I believe apologies are owed either way.

My notes are at the office and I am not sure that all of us were looking for the same thing. It was said that the entire chat session will be posted here on the board at some point
However, I remember him saying that he was not happy with the changes. He had just completed three weeks of travel covering 40,000 miles and needed a little time to work on this. He said that an airline should not try to solve a problem by changing the rules. When asked if we should go transfer to another airline, he said we should give Delta little more time.
When I was online he took at least two questions from Delta folk. However, due to technical problems the first question did not appear on the screen. After one hour, the screen - mine at least - did not show any more text so I left the session and I did not return for the second session.
On Monday, Flyertalk will announce a special chat with Randy for those concerned about changes in the Delta program. Randy promised to reveal at that time some "inside information" that may encourage some of us to stay with Delta.
The maximum number in the room could have been around 44 persons, the largest number of whom had Delta icons. Most of the questions posted in the session seemed reasonably good choices [it included one of mine about Delta] and looked as though these Delta questions were coming to the forefront in the near future.
