I would like to add a few other facts in that may or may not have influenced their decision making.
The ticket was on CX stock.
It was a last minute substitution (i.e. less that 24 hours)
I always fly CX using my AA number on the booking. I have flown quite a lot of paid premuim class travel with CX in the past and I am under the understanding that they do track even non Asia Miles / MPC members.

That being so, has anyone succeeded in getting compensation from CX for a confirmed A reservation being downgraded to D when the AONEn ticket is not on CX stock and the change is a long term one (although I have not been notified by anyone of it)?

To the OP. Check your ICN-HKG and HKG-ICN segments as updated schedules for next Feb/Mar were released last weekend. FWIW, my F segment reappeared for my Monday departure next March. For next Feb/Mar it looks like First Class is available every day of the week except Friday both directions between ICN and HKG.

Several years ago, out of CAI BA downgraded our AONE 747 to D-class on an Air Atlantic 747; they offered us two first class tickets anywhere on their network as compensation.
