I would rather not say how much the comp except to say it was around 4.5 % of the total ticket price.
I would like to add a few other facts in that may or may not have influenced their decision making.
The ticket was on CX stock.
It was a last minute substitution (i.e. less that 24 hours)
I always fly CX using my AA number on the booking. I have flown quite a lot of paid premuim class travel with CX in the past and I am under the understanding that they do track even non Asia Miles / MPC members.
