Non OW specific

http://kvs.unrealnetwork.com (KVS support thread) and
http://www.expertflyer.com/ - to check OW fares (may be more up-to-date than official OW sources) and availability.

http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch - to check on whether one should use a ONE segment or pay for a segment separately.

great circle mapper - working out unofficial distances, anywhere in the world (reasonably accurate)

I don’t know if you want to include non-OW sites. If not, just delete this message, but I use the following most frequently.

To check OW fares (may be more up-to-date than official OW sources), but particularly to check on availability, I use: http://www.expertflyer.com/

To check on whether one should use a ONE segment or pay for a segment separately, I try to find the best separate fare on: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch

DownUnderFlyer Mar 16, 2008 4:04 pm

Great link collection. Make it a sticky, maybe.

One link suggestion from me. The OneWorld network map. Similar to the RTW tool but without the baggage. Great for planning.

Some people use KVS instead of ExpertFlyer. It offers both US & UK POS possibilities, so occasionally has a slight edge on EF if booking via ba.com. Support is here on FT.

(Thanks, Kiwi Flyer for your efforts, BTW.)

I suggest adding Mexicana (MX) and Clickair (XG) to the respective lists as future members, perhaps with (2009) next to them.

And maybe their websites:

http://www.clickair.com

And possibly their FT forum:

You may be able to plug the ticket numbers into LAN's e-ticket print utility and get a further breakdown of the taxes.

I have a 17 segment LHONE4 paper ticket where this DOES NOT work, but after upgrading the AA segments using AAdvantage miles, the computer printed ticket number does come up with information.

Here's a link to the utility:

But wait, isn't XG/Clickair the Spanish LCC partly-owned by Iberia, that is in the process of merging with Vueling? There is another airline I've heard of, Click Mexicana, that could be joining OW with Mexicana? http://www.clickmx.com

Best places to purchase RTW Oneworld tickets?

Is there a thread or site that lists the current fares for purchasing Oneworld RTW tickets in various cities? Bangkok, Colombo, Cairo, Tokyo have been good but what is good now?

Thanks!

serfty Jul 31, 2008 8:30 pm

Look at these for a guide; not latest prices though:This one a bit more up to date but harder to compare:

monster Aug 1, 2008 11:17 am

Posts 166 and 175 from the this thread provide quite a bit of insight into when and how fuel (YQ) surcharges are collected. This might be useful info to have in one of the "stickies" (either this one or the xONEx FAQ).

Someone recently posted a link to a very useful map showing the boundaries of the OW "continents" as defined for an xONEx. I've tried to find the post, but without success. Here's the link: http://www.oneworld.com/content/library/c2852-4_poster.pdf.

I think the map dates from April 1st, 2007, so there could be some minor updates. There certainly appear to be some anomalies: e.g. The Galapagos Islands off Ecuador are shown as part of N. America, which I rather doubt. Nevertheless, it could prove useful as a tool when planning.

Edited to add: Tracked it down - Thanks, serfty, for this

For the few routes that cannot be checked via KVS Tool (such as EZE-SCL), you can use the BAEC website:

For Star Alliance there is a great spreadsheet which shows you which classes will earn you what miles on the various alliance carriers. Is there such a thing for OW carriers?

The StarAlliance one by BlondeBomber is at http://members.shaw.ca/deercroft/download.html and called STAR ALLIANCE MILEAGE EARNING CROSS TABLE.

LGA - you list 4 OW FFPs in your profile. Perhaps you could make a start on a OW table with other FTers helping out for the rest?

4 OW programs, yes, but a master of none. ;) I don't fly revenue trips on them - just the occasional award trip.

I will give LAN a call and see about locating a fare class / mileage accrual list for their various partners.

I was looking for an updated list, but WearyBizTrvlr's is over a year old. While watching football, I decided to compile my own. It's not as fancy as that one - I don't have currency macros - but the fares are correct as of 26 November. It's posted at http://twelvefruits.com/rtw27nov09.xlsx

For LONE4, cheap places include AKL (US$ 2788), DAC (3295), JNB (2908), TLV and AMM (3300), South America (3300). Southeast Asia prices are relatively high, though not as high as the US.

For DONE4, cheap options include DAC (7367), JNB (6403), TLV and AMM (7200). New Zealand and Australia are pricey.

pandaperth Nov 28, 2009 2:42 am

Am I correct in assuming:
  1. The numbers in brackets are USD
  2. by ACL you actually mean AKL (if this assumption is not correct then why are you telling us the fare from some place in Colombia (Aguaclara; =Clearwater?) that I at least have never heard of?:D

Also, I presume that prices in USD terms have been getting more expensive - because of the fall in the USD relative to other currencies.

1. Yes - I added a note.
2. Yes, AKL for New Zealand. The spreadsheet has the correct prices, so I don't know why I did that.

You're right that US dollar costs have generally increased. For other currencies, you can translate - the ratio between them will be the same.
