RTW ticket, longest routings ?? [On 16 segment rules]
I was reading this forum post today where people were discussing the most elite qualifying miles in one ticket. Someone said it is possible to get over 100K EQM from an around the world ticket.
About the most EQM I could see would be around 40-50K * 1.5 for a first around the world ticket say 70K EQM. Anyone have a valid Oneworld itinerary that could earn say 100K AA EQM's

This thread about longest routings might be of interest to you.
However a lot of these will no longer be valid as the maximum permitted sectors has just dropped from 20 to 16 as of June 1st.
You earn the same EQM for F or J on AA so you wouldn't need to fly first if you didn' really want to.

Thanks, so the longest in that thread that appeared to be valid was
syd-akl-hkg-BOM-HKG-KHI-HKG-JFK-sjd-jfk-ord-sju-lax-LHR-ist-lhr-dxb-LHR-mel-cns-syd
which was about 65946 miles, BUT 20 sectors, so with the new rules the mileage will be even less. Hence, it probably is NOT possible to get the 100KEQM AA miles in one RTW given that you could only get 16 sectors and would need to earn about 66,000 Miles * Business 1.5 multiplier to get 100K EQM.

Does this work? I've never really understood the 2nd transit through Europe for certain African countries.

Here is a 16 segment 68k xONE5 as an example. Not fully optimised.

The real trick is to get maximum mileage out of an xONE3:

RTW ticket, longest routing's ?? [On 16 segment rules]
xONE3's are possibly the most efficient under the 16 segment regime, even then they still waste an intracontinental segment. (4 asia + 6 na + 4 eur + 3 intercontental = 17 segments)
Try this for 54,693 miles:
I'm sure some of the others here can get more out of one of an xONE3.

Does this work? In two words "No, No"
First NO: You've violated the 2nd transit through Europe rule because one of the entries is not a "transfer without stopover between Ghana/Nigeria/Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania and another continent". Zimbabwe is not on the list. If you did it to say NBO or DAR then you'd be OK.
2nd NO: You are visiting Asia twice, but neither is "a transfer without stopover or on direct single plane service between the Southwest Pacific and Europe". Instead, you can either start by flying say MEL-LHR and leave all the Asian stopovers until the end of the journey, or have all your Asian stopovers at the start and then end the journey by flying from Sth Am back to SWP (e.g. SCL-AKL or EZE-SYD)
