Best OW lounge at NRT

I have an upcoming flight SFO-NRT and back (AA, via LAX not the JAL code share). I have been to the Admirals Club and the CX lounge in terminal 1 but these lounges are nothing to write home about. If there are better choices advice is greatly appreciated.

The flight is in Y but I am OW Emerald.

Nope, the AC and CX lounges are just about the best at NRT (except for the secret JL F lounge, in the other terminal and accessible only by special invitation). Even the SQ lounge in NRT is miserable (no better than the CX lounge). So you aren't missing anything by not getting into the BA lounge, for example.

Don't be disappointed.... Narita is the home port of JAL, and their lounges are 3rd world. I am a regular user of the one out in the island pier. Access it via an elevator last cleaned when Narita was constructed in 1970. Chairs are crowded in together. No need for tables, because there is no food other than peanuts sort of stuff. There are 2 (yes, count them, 2) business workstations. It's amazing that this dross is in the same general region as what is on offer in Hong Kong, Singapore, KL etc. No comparison.......

Thanks for the advice. It'll be the CX lounge again. At least they have free WiFi

The BA lounge isn't too bad either. Unfortunatley, it is only open when BA flights operate (am departure). It is right next door to the AA AC.

It'll be interesting when JL joins Oneworld.. cos their lounges are located in T2 where their flights depart from whereas the majority of Oneworld flights depart at T1.

T1 South wing opens at June 2006.
Star Alliance Groups move to T1 South, including NH,SQ,UA,OZ,SK,TG,LH,..

CX and AA are scheduled to move to T2 at 4Q2006 or 1Q2007.
BA and AY remain at T1 North.

Used to be if you sat in the back left area of the AC you could pick up the CX wi-fi. I would image this is still the case because a few months ago when I was in the CX lounge I noticed the wi-fi router was on the CX reception desk which is on the other side of the wall from the AC.

Of course, I would still go to the CX lounge anyway. Love those finger sandwiches.

I hope that implies that CX and AA will open new and better lounges in T2.

AY is now using the AC, will they open a lounge of their own or start using the BA lounge then?

I was in NRT on Weds for a NRT-HKG flight, the CX lounge although very chilled and relaxing had virtually nothing to offer other than the free wi-fi - very limited choice of drinks and food - although beer on tap made for a nice feature, and helped cure my hangover!

I have to admit though I spent most of my time in the AC which i preferred by far, especially with those shower suites, the power showers there are fantastic.

AC moves to T1 South as a Star Alliance Member.
AY has only 2 flights a week from NRT, so unlikely has its own lounge.
Probably, AY will shares BA lounge. Their departing schedules are almost same.

Question Any Foods in BA Lounge?

Hi,
I also wonder which is the best OW longe in NRT. My poit is whether they serve any of meals or not

I fly NRT-LHR in BA006. To take BA006, I have to leave my home Airport early morning. I think I will be hungry . I neither want to go to expensive air port restrant, nor bring many foods. I wanna know whether BA lounge in NRT serve any foods or not. If they serve, what kind of? Only nuts?

And other OW lounge, what kind of foods they serve? If you could have already told about that, I would say excuse me, I could not find out such information

Thank you

The CX lounge serves small sandwiches, rice rolls, nuts and similar snacks, and pot noodles.

Ba006 Nrt-lhr

The CX lounge on Weds was serving 'breakfast' - noodles, a very limited selection of cereal (frosties & coco puffs) as well as plenty of fresh fruit. No finger sandwiches, nuts etc... out when i was there and that was up until about 20mins prior to the departure of BA006
