Oh, sorry - yes - I was thinking of the afternoon selection, which is when I am normally there.

The AA, CX and BA lounges are all adjacent, so if you have the right status/ticket then there's nothing stopping you checking them all out. And do post your conclusions here afterwards The BA lounge is always closed when I'm there, so I can't help you on that.

I like the AA lounge better than the CX lounge because it has bathrooms inside instead of having to go out and walk down the hall.

BA lounge serves crisps and packaged biscuits (quite good actually), apples and sometimes some japanese items (seaweedy things). The real food is in the preflight dining (not offered on this route the last time I looked, and even if it were, not available with lounge admission, you must be flying BA J or F). Food at NRT is surprisingly bleak, the only decent sushi is outside of security for example.

Lounges at NRT

I just arrived from NRT and tried all three lounges. Here's my report

AA: Nice showers, no food, decent booze (self service). Better than most ACs in the US.
CX: The lounge was empty and offered no food (last time I visited they did).
BA: Decent selection of snacks; sandwiches, yoghurt, fruit sallad etc. Best selection of booze and wine of the lounges.
However, the girl at the entrance told me that I couldn't use the lounge when travelling AA (depite being EXP/OW Emerald) but she then told me she would let me in anyway because the lounge wasn't crowded.

Best

Hopefully you mentioned her being totally wrong here? Unless there's some special AA/BA rule in place at NRT, you sure should have had full access to any OW lounge with EXP+same day OW ticket...

BA does this all the time, particularly at airports with more AA than BA traffic and lots of EXPs....they invoke the "capacity controlled" clause, which might mean that there are 2 pax in the lounge, so it is now at capacity for EXP admission. That's when I whip out the QF Platinum card, which is usually no problem for admission. Since "capacity controlled" has no definition, BA can get away with this per Oneworld rules, and if you press them on it they will dig in and you definitely won't get in. Not that the BA NRT lounge is worth getting into.

I have to wait 11 hours at NRT today so I tried both JAL FC lounge and AA lounge.

JAL FC: Surprisingly crowded, but the crowd can leave altogether at any time. Best hot food(In my opinion better than The Wing in HKG.) but don't expect any "sushi".
It's not very convenient if you want to use a computer here although they have free Internet. There is no work desk as far as I know. This is the place to relax and eat good food and maybe get some sleep.

AA lounge: Very roomy, not so many people most of the time. If you want to work AA lounge may be better because there are a lot of desks here. Food selection is no comparison to the JAL lounge. So this is the place to eat some snacks and do some work(if you need to).

CX: I didn't bother since I don't think it would be anywhere close to "The Wing" in HKG.

Isn't the top floor the business class overflow area?
