Confirmation of Prices from WAW
Could somebody please confirm the current prices from WAW.
From the sticky at the top of the forum, I have the current DONE4 price as 2686 GBP. I also have heard that there are different prices issued from BA and AA.
Unfortunately the Qantas price list that everyone seems to refer to at the moment does not have WAW prices.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I have heard $USD5000 too, however don't really want to use AA as I won't be doing an transoceanic sectors with them so I will incur another $USD75 charge for changing the tickets - whilst it is not a large amount, I still would prefer not to have to do it. Also means I have to work out dummy routing which I am guessing will have to have more than 16 sectors as my real routing will have the maximum sectors.
Anyone done a dummy routing with less than 16 sectors and then changed it to their preferred routing which is over 16 sectors and managed to keep it e-ticketed?
Any assistance is much appreciated on this.

Could somebody confirm that the transaction defined in the fare rules can mean multiple changes to dates and routings done at the same time rather than every single change incurring the $USD75 fee.
Thanks

The fee is for a ticket reissue. The single USD 75 fee covers whatever number of changes you make at that time (you could make 19 changes, for example). Some airlines have taken to charging an additional fee separate from the OWE fee, for example BA charges GBP 20 on top of the USD 75. Finally the taxes get recomputed (this includes fuel surcharges) so it can go up or down by hundreds of dollars depending on what was changed (and why reissues take hours to do).

In my case 20 changes!
Unless of course BA match the AA price charged in WAW - ideally though I still want some confirmation about this - thus why I spawned this new thread.

Be sure you understand the rules if you make 20 changes -- there is a special rule in effect if you change the first sector and it is not to your benefit. Generally wise to fly the first sector before doing a reissue. If you reissue prior to flying the first sector, or change the first sector, the ticket is repriced and you lose your originally purchased pricing.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'm struggling to understand why you keep needing to ask the same questions. On the several recent threads links to other threads with very recent and very real experiences of issuing a DONE4 in WAW have been posted. Continually asking the same question will not change the facts. Someone may give you the answer you want to hear but it will be wrong.
The facts are:-
You will not have to pay the $75 dollar charge so long as you do not change the departure date from WAW. The $75 charge only come in to play AFTER you have commenced your trip. Reissues up to that point are free although as noted by number_6 BA and some airlines make an admin charge.
You could issue the DONE4 with a dummy itinerary with the minimum number of sectors. There is nothing to stop adding more at the reissue stage. You may want to do a dummy booking with 20 sectors using the places you really intend going to to help guage the taxes. For example if you really want to do:-
WAW-LHR-HKG-CTS-HKG-DPS-HKG-SYD-MEL-PER-ADL-SYD-LAX-ORD-ANC-ORD-SJU-MIA-LAX-LHR-WAW
Your dummy itinerary could be:-
WAW-LHR-LAX(on AA)-MIA-ORD-ANC-ORD-JFK-SYD-SYD-MEL-PER-ADL-SYD-HKG-CTS-HKG-DPS-HKG-LHR-WAW
Immediatley you have the ticket in your hand call the AA RTW Desk and change the itinerary to exactly how you want it. All that is then left is to get AA at LHR or the CTO in central London to reissue the ticket.
There you have it. Pay BA 3,720 and get your ticket issued with the correct itinerary or pay AA 2,800, issue the ticket with a dummy itinerary and then have it reissued to exactly how you want it. If that extra hassle is not worth 900 I don't know what is!
The facts are:-
- BA in WAW are charing PLN19160.00 for a DONE4. Taxes of PLN1612.39 took my total to PLN20772.39 (approx GBP3,720)
- AA quoted me $5,000. I don't have my ticket to hand but I recall taxes adding around $300. The GBP equivalent was around 2,800
- I have had the ticket succesfully issued by Tal at the price above. I have held it in my hands.

At the end of the day, it is a shame that some of us just missed the USD5000 fares ex WAW. Having said that, should anyone else find any other anomaly, please let us know.

How to please your ticketing agent
Please try to keep the fares calculations (ie tax and charges) that these agents have to do to a minimum. If you irk them then they will be less cooperative when we really need them. The reissues are not easy and especially as airport desk staff have no training in them. If you are breathing down their necks at the time, everyone gets stressed.
The AA and CX desks have a good reputation for being helpful and making the changes. BA used to have an RTW specialist that I got to know quite well and he was quite happy to be rung up directly with my two RTWs a month. I think that in the enhancements of customer service, he has gone.
By all means fire in the dummy sectors at the start and get the ticket issued. Beware of the 16 or 20 coupon bit. Do give the agents time to sort it all out and do give them clear written instructions. I hate having an agent look at my ticket stock and say ah BA issued, go to their office downtown. I don't have time for that! You may find that speaking to telephone reservations and making a confirmation there is easier.
Just some thoughts. No, I am not a ticket desk agent but I do see rather a lot of them over time.
