BA/QF RTW fare
Please can a RTW fare expert help me? I've called Trailfinders, they have offered me 3 different options for my proposed itinerary : Departing 8 Dec 20
LON BA SCL QF AKL QF BNE YY SIN YY LON.
1) A OW RTW fare of circa Ł2600 making use of any OW carrier and routing within reason.
2) A Global Explorer fare of circa Ł2300 presumably BA/QF/CX.
3) A QF Special Fare of Ł1900 using BA to SCL and restricted to QF for the rest of the journey.
Is my above understanding correct? Does anybody know the seasonality of the fares? When does Shoulder season end and High season begin? Can the Special Fare be booked directly with Qantas? Any assistance or other creative ideas gratefully received!
Thanks.

Thank you for the questions clansey1973. Gave me something to do while I'm hunkered down 😊 (I'm in the virus at-risk age group)
I'm assuming:
I see ernestywang has addressed your third option, which is good because I know nothing about that fare. But I do know quite a bit about the other two.
The first option looks like a Oneworld Explorer ticket, specifically a LONE4 (economy class, 4 continents). The base fare for this is Ł2,100. I priced your itinerary using the tool available on the Oneworld website – the all-in fare is Ł2,824 (you could purchase it online if you wish). While more expensive than option 3, with this ticket you can do a lot more than your proposed itinerary. To learn more, take a look at the wiki to The Oneworld Explorer User Guide thread (in brief, you can fly any of the Oneworld airlines plus their affiliates, take up to one year and up to 16 flights).
Your second option is Oneworld's Global Explorer, specifically a LGLOB26 (economy class, maximum 26000 miles). The base fare for this is Ł1800, so the all-in cost for your itinerary will be about Ł300 less than the LONE4 cost. (The saving should be a bit more – because on this ticket you can take LA's SCL-AKL non-stop flight rather than fly QF via SYD, thus saving the transfer add-ons at SYD.) Again, with this ticket you can do a lot more than your proposed itinerary, though in your case you are pushing up against the 26,000 mile limit and the allowed 5 stopovers (your itinerary is 25,245 miles and 4 stopovers). More miles and more stopovers = more money, of course. You cannot book this ticket online – you need to contact a Oneworld airline or use travel agent.
So bottom line – if you only want your 4 stopovers, then Option 3 looks like your best bet.
But if you want to do more – then read on 😊
Option 1 – LONE4
You are allowed up to 4 flights in each of South West Pacific, Asia and Europe/Middle East – so you can make numerous additions to your itinerary. (see the User Guide wiki Ticket Tricks section)
Option2 – LGLOBnn
As I've said your proposed itinerary is bumping up against the limits of the LGLOB26, but for Ł300 more you can buy a LGLOB29, which allows up to 29,000 miles and up to 15 stopovers (maximum of 4 per continent). A feature of the Global Explorer is that it allows more airlines than just the Oneworld airlines plus their affiliates. Of interest to you may be that you can fly LA (the South American airline LATAM) and FJ (Fiji Airlines) and can also fly the QF codeshares on TN (Air Tahiti Nui) – here's a sub-29000 mile itinerary I knocked up as an example LHR-CMN-RIO-SCL-IPC-PPT-AKL-NAN-BNE-KUL-DEL-LHR.
I'm assuming:
- Your desired itinerary is LON-SCL-AKL-BNE-SIN-LON
- You will be travelling in economy class

can you provide a bit more information on this please.
Am I right it is an ex-LON return ticket with fare basis SLRWUK?
Where is the destination? In ExpertFlyer I've looked at its routing rules for LON-BNE rtn and LON-AKL rtn and neither seems to allow travel via SCL.
Just curious is all.

clansey1973 , are you going for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_...ember_14,_2020? If yes, you can squeeze in a SCL-CCP-SCL with LGLOB26, which will be close to the zone of total eclipse, but a SCL-ZCO-SCL, which takes you to the total eclipse zone, will be over 26000 mi. If you want to go to ZCO but can substitute SIN with HKG, you can still be under 26000 mi.
