If yes, you can squeeze in a SCL-CCP-SCL with LGLOB26, which will be close to the zone of total eclipse, but a SCL-ZCO-SCL, which takes you to the total eclipse zone, will be over 26000 mi. If you want to go to ZCO but can substitute SIN with HKG, you can still be under 26000 mi.
A colleague of mine is interested in seeing the Solar Eclipse, it fired my imagination! The SLRWUK base fare of GBP1020 is so damned good that my imagination was fired also by the fare! If Australia is closed until 2021 for British Passports then it's all a moot point, sadly. Conceivably LON QF SIN//JKT QF SYD QF SCL BA LON for £1700ish does represent amazing value for money! Domestic travel around Chile can be done by rail or hire-car, although I understand the Eclipse is also visible from SCL? Thanks so much for taking the time to retrieve and blog the fare shown, as a Special Fare expert in my previous career, its really nice to be thinking about these things again. Let's hope the C19 phase passes and we can all start flying again. Thanks again!
