Reissuing a QF Ticketed AONE4
I need to do some reroutes on my OWE that I have already ticketed. As the TA I used is in Joburg it is a little difficult. It was issued by QF so I'm assuming they will be the best people to reissue it. I am in London a lot so it is no problem to go in to the QF office in King Street. I know airlines can be difficult about working on a booking before travel has commenced, so am I likely to face any problems with QF? Has anyone had a ticket reissued by QF in London?

Any Oneworld airline is able to reissue your ticket (some may not be very willing, esp. as there is no reissue fee for changes prior to flying the first segment). Using QF has 2 advantages: it is in their computer (other airlines will have to enter it segment by segment, including fare and tax calculation, so it takes an hour), and QF is able to print a large number of segments by computer (AA and CX are limited to 16 segments -- ticket must be hand-written if more than 16 segments). I think there is strong incentive to use QF to do the reissue. Never dealt with them in UK, but I've had good luck with QF reissuing tickets (issued by AA, btw) but that was in Australia. Others have reported problems with delays and strange RTW rule interpretations (presumably you are past that, as QF has already blessed your original routing and hopefully you aren't sneaking in some controversial changes).

Managed to the reissue done at QF in London. It was well handled. I went first thing in the morning and was surprised to find only 2 people handling walk-in's. Thankfully it was quiet and I didn't delay anyone. It took about 50 minutes to do the actual changes - 2 sector changes in Australia, 1 inter-continental and 6 sectors in the US, plus putting dates on some OPEN sectors, but the actaul reissue took some time. The first attempt which took about 30 minutes failed as the final segement had been lost so he to start again! At this point I decided to leave it with him and they posted it out to me.
Like BA, QF have introduced "Professional Services" charges for walk-in's. For a reissue they charge 25.
