RTW Routing
I am planning to do an OW business RTW, but I am not sure if the following routing works:
BKK-HKG-JFK-BOS,then by land to BDL, BDL-LAS-LAX-YVR-LHR-CDG-LHR-HKG, then wait for another free long weekend, will go for another side trip HKG-SIN-HKG (or any other CX's destination besides BKK)
So does my routing work?
I know I still need a leg back to BKK, but since I am living in HKG, can I just skip this leg? Will they knock on my door one day and ask for penalty?
Is there a max of 2 stopover in the continent of orgin?
If there is not business offered in AA domestic, will they put me in First?
Thanks a lot for any of your feedback

i think you routing is okay, check fewmiles' site and previous discussion about the detailed rules.
(i assume BDL is in NA)
a biz class ticket DONEW3 should be able to let you fly F in NA (booked in A class).
in fact, i believe from Seoul is cheaper then from BKK.
and you can practically skip your last coupon (though not offciallu allowed)

In the latest rules i got last week (July 25th) it now states that "WHEN THE CLASS OF SERVICE FOR THE FARE IS NOT OFFERED BOOK IN THE NEXT LOWER CLASS OF SERVICE". This means that for most domestic flight (except the Transcon flight that offer business class) you will be booked in M class.

There should be an "exception" for domestic US flights on two class aircraft. The product is not really first class and should have been renamed "Business Class" many years ago. Stupid Americans !!

FYI
While looking at the fare rules for the DONEW4 fare ex-Australia on www.travel.com.au
, I found the following:
IF FIRST/BUSINESS CLASS IS N O T AVAILABLE ON A
FLIGHT - PASSENGERS WILL TRAVEL IN THE NEXT LOWEST
CLASS WITHOUT COMPENSATION - EXCEPTION: FOR
SERVICES WITHIN/BETWEEN THE USA AND CANADA WHERE
N O BUSINESS CLASS IS OFFERED BUSINESS CLASS
PASSENGERS MAY BOOK AND TRAVEL IN FIRST CLASS
SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY(CONDITIONS APPLY).
(you have to scroll down and read the section titled "Notes" section in detail to find this)
Most people only see the part the says:
BUSINESS: D (QF/BA/AA/CX/IB/DI/AY*/EI*/LA*/LP*);
FIRST: A (QF/BA/AA/CX/AY*/EI*/IB/LA*/LP*);
*ECONOMY: Y (EI - DOMESTIC IRELAND FLTS);
*ECONOMY: Y (LA - DOMESTIC CHILE FLTS);
*ECONOMY: Y (LP - DOMESTIC PERU FLTS);
*ECONOMY: Y (AY - DOMESTIC FINLAND FLTS);
NOTES -
A)WHEN THE CLASS OF SERVICE FOR THE FARE PURCHASED
IS NOT OFFERED - BOOK THE NEXT LOWER CLASS OF
SERVICE USING THE ABOVE BOOKING CLASSES;
B)CAPACITY LIMITATIONS MAY APPLY ON THIS FARE.

Sorry, I'm still confused.
I always thought that D class OWEs were entitled to travel in F in 2 class planes in the US/Canada.
Has there been a further update to the rules recently to suggest otherwise?
