Just noticed that ex-CMB might be worth a look again.

How much saving are people willing to pay for D vs I
In programs that I care, D has much better earning than I for a few airlines. |

In programs that I care, D has much better earning than I for a few airlines. Edit: Spread is a bit larger than I remember, IONE3 $5340 & DONE3 $6140, $800 difference. Japan still best for DONE3 @ $5810. |
I see ex-CAI xONEx fares on AA, QR, JL, CX, UL, etc. (but not BA). $7,886 for DONE4, $8,110 for DONE5. Can't recall if they were gone for a while or just jacked up.

Qr had an old fare until it was pulled on aug. A short while after, the new fare level was filed on all airlines.
|
And now ex-CAI are in hard currencies, no more EGP prices...

How do you tell what currency a fare is priced in? I don't think EF shows it, does it?
The list is published somewhere*, EF does show it in the routing information for some fares, depending on the upstream provider. * Edit: “somewhere” is Resolution 024a. |

Thanks for clarifying

V FARE BASIS BK FARE TRAVEL-TICKET AP MINMAX RTG |
But the conversion rate is off a little bit. Looking at the Sri Lankan fares, they are using a rate of 178.4 LKR/ US$, while the rate on Sunday was 179.4 and today it is 180.2 I believe that Calchas stated that the bank rates are only updated once per week. Is this still true? When I bought my ex-CAI ticket 4 days after the devaluation over a weekend, I got the higher rate. Just curious.

Thanks, I never thought to look in the routing rules for the currency of a fare, but there it is:

Must book RTW through 1st carrier...?
Just got off the phone with the AA RTW desk (well at least that's the number I called...) to make a new booking, and the agent I tried to book with refused to make the booking, saying that they've been told to tell customers that they must now make new bookings with the airline of the 1st flight. In my case this would be CX. (I want to start ex HND.)
Has anyone else had this experience? Or did I just get an inexperienced agent... I may try againg in a few hours and see if I get a different response... Thx in advance Medicus |
