DONE4 pricing discrepancy ?
I am in the process of organising a DONE4 for two people:
AMM-YUL-DFW-PHX-DFW-RAP-DFW-LAX-BNE-AKL-ZQN-SYD-BNE-KUL-HKG-CDG-AMM
This priced out with the online tool at approx $16,300 USD.
Unfortunately the online tool wouldn't book it for me (same error many here seem to have reported) so I had to ring up the AA RTW desk to book.
I've been keeping an eye on the progress of ticketing via aa.com, and today I noticed that a number had appeared in the pricing for it.
That price is: $11,000 USD.
Now, I know booking through AA is supposed to be cheaper, but this seems like too huge a difference just for that ?

Heh. It just occurred to me that the price on aa.com might be in JOD.
$11,000 JOD comes out to about $15,600 USD.
That seems like a more reasonable difference. Not that I'm going to complain if they only charge me US$11,000 !

The problem you will face is in actually issuing the ticket. From what has been said here you will need a travel agent in Jordan since AA has no ticket office there and Royal Jordanian will not touch around the world tickets. If you issue it through AA in the US they will charge the US rate, not the Jordan rate.

I'd be worried that the $11,000 is a per person rate.... What does your credit card account show as having been pre-authorized?

My various xCIRC29SA itineraries booked and paid through AA at HKG have come out with a variety of prices when viewing on the AA web site. Sometimes as low as a few dollars, sometimes in multiple tens of thousands of dollars. It is random and totally unrelated to the fare paid - be it in HKD, USD or any other logical currency. I just ignore it. The amount charged to my CC has been correct.

If you want the ex-AMM rate, you should tell RTW office that you want it rated by tariff for ticketing in Jordan, and they will quote the price in Jordanian Dinars. However, I don't think anybody here has been able to find a reliable ticketing agent in Jordan.
Failing that, tell them you want it priced for ticketing in Egypt and the price will be quoted in Egyptian Pounds, though at the equivalent ex-AMM rate which is higher than the ex-CAI rate.
Then ticket it through the AA GSA in Cairo:

* Strip out segments until the online tool takes it, then pay the change fee to put them back in.
* See if anyone on FT can point me towards a Jordanian travel agent who can issue a DONE4.

Correct. They will check that it has been priced in Egyptian Pounds, and then you give your credit card info. I think I also sent a scan of my passport; that is normal.

So after a bit of a run-around (no fault of the GSA, who has been excellent - RJ cancelled my first and last legs as they'd taken too long to ticket) I have a price of EGP115,000 = USD$17,000.
This seems a bit too high when the online tool gives a price of $16,300 ?
