RDM? Was my jab re MQM too subtle? Think DL merger talk.

As someone who will probably only reach the 60,000 mile award level, I see two benefits...

1. The $100 Vacation Package discount
2. The ability to combine the EQM awards into one calendar year.

* 30,000 Bonus Miles
* One-Year WorldClubs Membership
* 4 One-Way Confirmed Domestic Upgrades
* 2 One-Way, Confirmed System-Wide Upgrades
* 50% Off World Business ClassSM PerkPass Award
I was wondering the same thing, in a curious sort of way. I'd like to see someone log in and complain about hitting 360k EQM, and wanting their award!

I am glad to see that NW recognizes that pax fly more then 160k EQM, and recognizes those that do.

Be a little careful with this discount, as I believe you have to buy at least a $1000 package to be able to apply it.

Does this mean the 4 Domestic awards can be used for Hawaii?

Good question -- there is nothing in the T&C that prohibits use to/from Hawaii. I'm guessing this was an oversight Certainly would be a great way to use the upgrades!

That raises the question, has anyone tried to use the 4 One-Way Confirmed Domestic Upgrades to/from Hawaii or Alaska from 2007? I don't see anything in the 2007 T&C that says no. Hmmm...

Hmm.... I had already worked out my projected bookings to be at least 250k for the year. Now it looks like I will have to stretch it to 320k. Drat... this might require a few B fare purchases Why does NW have to do this to me?

They should add a 360k award, where the only option is a wallet-sized picture of something OTHER than the inside of a plane or airport.

But I don't want a wallet-sized picture of Doug Steenland!

The domestic upgrades cannot be used for HI travel. (see copy of actual certificate verbiage below):
This certificate entitles you to a complimentary one-way First Class upgrade with the purchase of any published fare (including Military/Government fares) for travel with the 48 contiguous United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and Costa Rica.

The HI awards were eliminated due to lack of selection in the 2007 program. In level 3 for 2007, the SWU option (which would include HI) was overwhelmingly selected with much greater frequency.

NWA.com/asia ( Japan ) is still not updated with the 2008 promotion details......Although I don't expect it to be significantly different
than the U.S. version. Maybe the only difference is the 2500 to
5000 miles increase again.
