Rumors
Excerpts came from the crewstart forum, which I lurk now and then, primarily to find out rumors on NW and CO:
* Midfield Terminal will open in mid January
* A330 will have on demand video at every seat including MC, WBC will have power ports as well as some main cabin seats
* We will open a 320 base in NRT. Possibly a pilot base. At least 2 US Fa will be onbaord interport airbus flights

a 320 base in NRT? I recall (from CrewStart) that they were going to be using those new high-density 757's (757-300's?) instead.

The talk about delaying the midfield expansion has been around for months now and my personal feeling is that they will defer it till the end of winter just to remove the risk of bad PR with winter delays/teething troubles combining at the new terminal.
The A330s have NOT even been ordered with PTVs in the main cabin, let alone on-demand video. The first A330 delivery won't be on the line in Toulouse for another 6-7 months though, so there is plenty of time to change their mind, but don't hold your breath.
The NRT base rumor has also been around for a long time. There is substance to this rumor, especially since there has been informal polling lately among the narrowbody pilots (especially MEM base) if they are willing accept an overseas assignment. Its being touted as a fast-track to the left seat for those who are willing, since most of the senior types will stay put at the cushy US bases.

Any rumors found on CrewStart should be taken with a grain of salt.
After all, CrewStart is comprised of Flight Attendants. Enough said?

An airline does not have to order in-flight entertainment (IFE) at the same time as the aircraft order. Separate bids are usually solicited for IFE/PTV equipment. My sources indicate that NWA is in the process of determining what IFE to put on the A330. PTVs are neither in nor out - they are being evaluated along with a bunch of other possibilities.
