I still have at least thirteen flights to take this year (booked). I calculated my EQM's through the end of the year with those flights included and I will be 888 miles short of 160K. UGH. Good thing I didn't select any EEP awards yet - looks like I'll have to use the 2,500 EQM at the 60K level to bump me over 160K.

I'm still hoping at least one of my flights gets 'disrupted' and I have to get moved over to another carrier/flight on a full 'Y' ticket kicking in the 50% EQM bonus. Sure seems like a good possibility with half of my flights already showing nearly full or full and some of them aren't for 2.5-3 weeks.

I am going to be at 160,031 after my brazil/tucson trip. Without anything else in Dec. Might have some more travel but that is cutting it close to 160k

I went over 60k almost a week ago and haven't received any sort of email asking me to make my "selection." I definitely do receive NWA email, also, so that shouldn't be the problem. Should I just wait for an email or go do it on nwa.com somewhere?

Tip for all:
You can always access the reward selection chart by visiting www.nwa.com/eliteextraperks and click on the words "Elite ExtraPerks promotion details page" in the paragraph starting with "Reward notification and selection."

I signed up for EEP '07 back in Jan07. I'm going from Plat to Silver on 2/28/08, yet am going for Plat again in '08 (37k EQM booked already, in calendar '08).

So... is this benefit only really good for the second year in a row as a Plat? If there's EEP in '08, do I sign up in Jan as a Plat, fall back to Silver, make Gold, then make Plat again, then can take the 90k EEP selection?

Thanks!

Of course no one knows as of yet, but I would assume that
we have to sign up again for the 2008 EEP promotion. All
starts from zero, right? Personally, I cannot wait to get
out of the gate running ( first flight is on New Year's day ),
gotta love those SWUs.
Happy New Year to all!

I guess I can rephrase my question: Is EEP based on the Elite level of when you sign up, or the Elite level of when you reach the milestones?

Yet let's think about that, for a second. EEP awards start at 60K, and the program is for Golds and Plats. So as long as you sign up for EEP while Gold, after 50K, and before 60K, you'll get the 60K. Just sign up as soon as you can, and before 60K (presume awards are backward redeeming).

Here's to hoping '08 EEP sees the 120K reward being (2) roundtrip SWUs, vs. the current (2) one-way SWUs.

OK, looks like I answered my own question. Thanks! :)

I can't find what the perks are for Asian residents. Could someone please post the info or link? Thanks

I assume by now you found the 2008 perks for Asian members. Do you
agree with me that we are screwed? While the U.S. membership gets all sorts of goodies including SWUs, we are offered 30k bonus miles after the 160k level. I am seriously considering jumping ship and I used to be a NW supporter all the way. We cannot participate in any of the U.S. offers, all the games, all the bonuses. All we get is the free WC membership once we reach GE. Fares are impossibly high here for Asian tavel. The bonuses offerd are geared towards Japanese tourists, extra miles or lower redemption levels for trips to GUM, SPN or HNL. Or redemptions on Air Asia. Nothing else. Very disappointed.

Apart from the introduction of the upper redemption levels, EEP08 for Asia looks almost the same as last year's.

Not sure why NW didn't extend the same benefits for 200k, 240k, 280k and 320k to follow the one for 160k.  Doesn't encourage a frequent flyer to go beyond 160k (Not that it matters to me, though) :D
