First flights affected by strike?

So when you do think the affects of the strike will begin to take place? Will it happen as soon as midnight or sometime tomorrow?

"The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) could strike as soon as 9:01 p.m. PDT Friday, when a federally mandated cooling-off period ends."

Could be the end of the day flights home from MSP and DTW!

Saw a couple of flight cancelled today. I wouldn't be surprised if NW (surreptitiously of course) cancelled a few flights with light loads on heavy routes to give them more breathing room.

Yes.

Flying America West ( with 15 co-workers) on Tuesday for the first time in 3 years. Delta back.

Past several years business trips has always been NW.

I hope the replacement workers can find the parts OK.

My flight out of GRB tomorrow morning just got the call, flt #1713 06:40 departure canceled due to "aircraft maintenance".

Silver lining though, not confirmed for upgrade on connection to SAN on original ITN, new ITN however, arriving just a couple hours later confirmed in 3-D! Hopefully this will be the only disruption for me tomorrow....might be wishful thinking though.

Let the fun begin!

Maintenance cancellations at DTW

First time flying Northwest today and I'm in ORD now. Was rerouted on American due to the DTW-BNA flight cancelling for "aircraft maintenance." Thankfully the gentleman next to me on the inbound guested me into the WorldClub to get the rebooking taken care of. This was after the gate agent meeting the flight didn't know where I should go or what I should do.

I must say the WorldClub in the middle of the concourse is VERY nice! The agent was quite helpful and patient since it took over an hour to get everything straightened out. The computer didn't want to send my ticket anywhere but to another SkyTeam flight leaving very late or the next day.

While there, a lot of flights started cancelling and all the reasons were for aircraft maintenance. Sounds suspicious to me! Hope all works out as well for others affected as it did for me - rebooked into Y with a complimentary upgrade all the way to BNA!

I thought there were two clubs in Detroit, both "kind of" on opposite ends. The only thing I remember in the middle is the fountain. I've been wrong before though.

Walk east of the fountain (I think that would be correct), turn right, right before you hit the Starbucks...WC! The two ends certainly have better views though!

regards

There are three (3) clubs in the A terminal of DTW. I think the center one is the largest. THere's also another club in B.

That one is great! It's got the feel of the WC, but with the WiFi of the P-Club.
