I'm somewhat confused by some of the responses.
Is the poll "Will there be a strike starting tonight or tomorrow?" or "Is it a good thing if there is a strike now?"
I think there will be a strike.
I'm not convinced it will be good for either side. Yes, NWA will get cost reductions, but I think the effects of the changes will spiral out of NWA management control - due to a) passenger reaction b) investor reaction and c) employee reaction.
I think NWA will get labor costs down, but think a Chapter 11 is still not averted unless something changes.

Yes........but, the more important question is whether this will force a shutdown of NW operations (temporary or otherwise). This is the real gamble both sides are making.

Picking nits!
Maybe.
If not a strike, then a lockout. There's a 50/50 chance of each. It all depends on who gets the first press release on the wires.

Ugh! Hope not, I have a flight booked tomorrow am! It is with Pinnacle, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Since hope springs eternal, I say "no" not until after I finish with the next 4 trips I have booked w/NW through the third week of Sept.

yes, it looks pretty certain there will be a strike.
There could be a rather quick chapter 11 filing too, if NW wants to play hardball and use that to throw out their contracts.

This somehow seems like a NHL forum talking about the 2005-2006 Hockey season.
Did you know that many NWA phone agents have "stage names"? If I were crass, I would compare it to something, but I'm not, so I won't.
