Denmark and Norway want to exclude Russia from Eurovision. Not quite up there with say restricting the exports of some products from the U.S. to Russia or suspending Russia from an international organization such as the SWIFT network of banks, but every contribution counts. Like the Olympics, Eurovision has been affected during the pandemic by an occasional positive test result; it'll hopefully carry on in May as scheduled, and if not, or if so, you may enjoy the entertaining Will Ferrell spoof, The Story Of Fire Saga.

Update: And yet! This about Denmark and SWIFT.

Copenhagen airport has kept open the great Covid-19 testing arrangements at CPH airport, speaking of the P5 set-up. I hope it stays available for at least as long as there is a testing requirement to fly to the US.

Sweden, Finland and Denmark said they were preparing to close their airspace to Russian planes on Sunday,
...
Denmark would also support a cross-EU ban to Russian aircraft, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod said in a tweet.

Iceland has also decided to shut its airspace to Russian air traffic, Icelandic Foreign Minister Thordis Kolbrun Gylfadottir tweeted on Sunday.

Russia's likely countermeasure will heavily hurt Finland's state carrier Finnair .

"If Russia in parallel closes its airspace from Finnish aircrafts, it would have significant impact on Finnair as our Asian traffic would in practice come to a standstill", Finnair spokeswoman told Reuters in an emailed statement on Sunday.

"Going around Russian airspace prolongs flight times so much that it would not be financially possible to operate our Asian flights," she said.

The flag carrier of Sweden and Denmark is SAS.

No mention of the SAS routes to Asia.

Still, from an email just received:

Oplev George Balanchines smukke helaftensballet, Juveler, fra 1967.

Mange kender Balanchine for hans mesterlige udgave af juleklassikeren Nøddeknækkeren, men Juveler er en af Balanchines få abstrakte helaftensforestillinger, og består af ikke mindre end tre funklende balletter.

Se balletten fra 26. maj til 21. maj.

This remains a quite nice operation. Even those testing at 10pm on a Friday night manage to get the results back at around 7am Saturday.

Parking garage 5? I have never driven a car in Denmark. But I take it it's safer from Covid than on a crowded plane. :)

The Parking 5 area is a street level outdoor area which they temporarily modified into an outdoor testing facility. It is covered and also does use some kind of "container" building things too.

On a crowded plane, people are physically closer and for a longer period of time next to others than is the case with being at the CPH P5 testing facility. And the amount of time when people happen to be in close proximity to someone who has a mask off (or not in use) is longer on flights than is the case for this testing facility. :D

My most recent test -- and I've had more than any Danish taxpayer should want to know ;) -- there had me in and out of the P5 testing/covered areas within less than 180 seconds of arriving.

I really enjoy seeing the travel party members get tested, especially those who've espoused anti-vax sentiment, tried to milk the "I'm eating/drinking" thing in-flight, or had some kind of "Sweden is best" thing going on when it comes to what should be done during the Covid-19 pandemic.

P5 is the parking lot by CPH relatively close to the ex-Hilton now Clarion hotel. Car is a necessity if you are not living within greater Copenhagen.

It's closer to the ex-Hilton/now-Clarion CPH than the SAS check-in counters are to the main airport screening checkpoint.

BLL dropped the mask requirement in the airport as of today, and CPH will follow soon, officially by Monday, but possibly effective already during the weekend after BLL's announcement.
AAR, AAL, RNN, KRP and SGD still haven't made official announcements on scrapping the mask requirement, but I would expect them to follow suit within the next week.

CPH’s free PCR testing at P5 is still working well with sub-12 hour turns on results.

Was told that people who tested positive in such a way that their results are viewable on Covidresults.dk automatically are eligible online to get a free Covid-19 certificate of recovery around 11 or 12 days later following that positive test result. A c. 6 month period of validity for the recovery certificate. Also applicable to those who aren’t from Denmark but got tested in Denmark in a relevant way for Covidresults.dk.

Beginning at midnight no one, not even the unvaccinated coming from outside of EU and Schengen, need to be tested to enter Denmark.

It appears Sweden is aligning wih the US to now offer people 65+ years of age (the US 50+) a second booster shot when 4+ months since previous. Denmark has no plans to do so.

I paid 145 DKK for a standard antigen test, also known as a kviktest, at Copenhagen Medical by Nørreport today. Odd to pay for it when you’re used to getting it for free.

It was sort of surprising to get a negative test result given I have been among lots of people in the last two weeks in Denmark.

You are very unlikely to be infected at any specific moment in time, even if you kissed 100 people during the day since you can only be infected approximately once a year. If you were (and you may not know about it), you will be testing negative for a while, no matter how many risks you take :)
