Update on the UA Status Match/Challenge

I'm requalifying on CO just in case!
Even though my partner and I received letters stating we would be matched through Feb 2008, he just received his UA Premier card showing expiration of Feb 2009. So I guess the 1P line was right!

Dl status comp or challenge?

Does anyone know if delta is offering a straight status comp or are they still doing their version of the challenge?

Really?

I'm new to FT and now that I've lurked for about 2 weeks my wife and I are signing up for the AA Platinum challenge.

I'm flying from TPA to San Fran via (TPA-MIA-ORD-LAX-SFO-LAX-ORD-MIA-TPA] in First Class for about 1200 bucks and I'll be Platinum when I'm done, AND get the bonus miles on the flight because I become platinum WHILE FLYING it..

AA isn't soo bad..

That describes the AA Platinum Challenge - a highly sub-par experience IMO.

Now that's not so good.

Delta Status match

I am a Star Alliance Gold member on Aeroplan and am on my way to 100k this year. I asked for a status match and they kindly said yes they would to Gold.

Seeing as the Medallion Platinum tier is only 75k, I would really to be placed straight to that.

I know what I want and what they will give me are two different things but has anyone ever heard of Delta awarding a status match to Platinum?

Wow, NICE! I may just have to actually pay for F once! That's a great way to get Plat, and not priced all that badly either!

United Status Match

What is the most up-to-date and fastest way to get matched to United Premier Executive? I am a US Plt and doing about 35-40k miles in the next couple of months.

Do I need to fax my details to them? Or can I e-mail? One post said to just e-mail [email protected]. Can I just do this?

Thanks!

Talking Delta Status Match results

I'm a 1K on United and requested a status match by Fax on Tuesday, today (less than 48 hours later) I am a Gold Medallion on Delta. Thanks to FT for all the info I needed!

UA is now a challenge status match. They front you up to 1P status, and then you have to fly 12.5 k miles or 15 segments to keep it. If you fail and do get 6.5 k or 6 segments (I believe these numbers are correct but please correct me if I'm wrong), then you get 2P instead. If you match now, status is good through 2009.

Challenge miles must be on UA metal with UA flight numbers.

Hope this helps.

Also, your US flights will count toward the status match challenge as well:
I don't think this is correct. The challenge miles must be on UA metal with UA flight numbers according to the South Dakota MP CSR's. YMMV, but this is the information I was given.

2P match challenge requires 6,250 miles or 8 segments within 90 days.

UA Premier Exec Status Match

Is there any way around the one time status match with UA? I have US Airways Platinum status and want to move 100% of my business to them (80-90K miles a year) and they declined. They did extend a status match in 2002 (shame on me) but my wings were clipped for business travel then so I could not requalify. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
