Please fax a written Preferred Exception request, along with current tier documentation for the other airline, to 305-370-3513. It is important to include your Dividend Miles account number, your email address and a daytime telephone number so that we can contact you after your correspondence is reviewed.

I'm AA PLAT and expected to be matched to status with lounge access (*Gold).. anyways they just put me on silver  worthless...

UA STATUS MATCH & ALASKA STATUS MATCH

After faxing UA for a status match for my AA Plat, I got a letter back requesting a copy of my AA card and AA statement. I'd fax'd all of that. I immediately responded by US mail. Got my status match a week later. 3 weeks total. Notified by mail. Now I'll wait for the card.

Also, req. status match on Alaska by fax and got it 2 weeks later. Notified by mail. they included a card and 4 ow 1st class upgrades.

Booking flights for the AA Plat challenge

I'm planning on doing the AA challenge with flights on AA/CX in April to Shangahi.

I understand via search that I shouldn't sign up for the challenge until closer to the dates that I plan to travel.

Am I OK to book the tickets now (will be J tix on AA/CX) even though I don't request the challenge for another 3-4 weeks?

You can go ahead and book the tickets anytime. You just need to start the challenge before the miles post to your account.

Following a number of changes on a Trans Tasman sector I fly fortnightly with Qantas, MEL-CHC, I made a request to Air NZ to consider matching status.

I am currently Qantas Platinum (One World Emerald) and was seeking a match to the top level within Air NZ, being Gold Elite.

My enquiry was directed to the Sales Team in Australia. Although no official policy exists, I was informed the Sales Manager would review the requests on a case by case basis, and required approval by the GM.

I supplied my QF statements for the previous 4 years, aong with a copy of my current Platinum card and a letter outlining my reasons for changing carrier and the expected revenue I would bring across.

Within a matter of days my request was approved and my status upgraded to NZ Gold Elite (*Gold).

I received the kit this morning, with an expiration date of 28 Feb 07.

I received a status match AA Platinum (matching my Delta GM) through my company in 2005. I flew about 8000 AA miles in 2005, so I thought the gig was up. I was shocked to get a 2006 AA Platinum card in the mail today.

I got my status match to Prem. Ex. from UA on Friday and was able to use on an upcoming flight to HKG to get economy plus seats. Otherwise I was thinking of buying their plan for $299. So this seems to have worked for me just fine. Thank you UA.

LH status match

I heard Lufthansa processed status matches in UK in the last years!?

Just sent a request to Miles & More Portugal for a match into elite status due my current FTL (*Silver) expired last DEC !

Any experience with LH? In UK they gave away alot of Senator's (also with the same benefits like 2 Upgrade Vouchers?) and FTL's !

Would be interesting to speak with anyone who recieved LH FTL/SEN by this way and know about the requirements...

Cheers :-:

Except under the UK * Alliance status match promotion, LH has a history of rebuffing status match requests for many flyers -- especially to SEN. Present company, unfortunately, included. Consequently, I have not stepped onto LH flights in the past 5 years, in over a million elite qualifying miles, except for those involving award ticket reroutes.

Well... I wrote them: ...regarding of your recently launched codeshare with TAP Air Portugal..bla bla... I'd like to return to LH service if you're able to upgrade my M&M account status to a similar status as AA PLT (so FQT)... bla bla !

We'll see what happen ! Otherwise I match to UA PrEx ;)

I'd go the UA or BMI route before trying LH. :D

Quick Question

I am a UA 1P, is there any shot US or HP will give me a Match? I plan to travel to CLT a few times this year and could use status on US or HP for those flights.
Thanks

Members within the same alliance generally don't seem to like to status match members of their partner airlines' program. In this case, UA and US are part of * Alliance and thus may have some kind of anti-poaching understanding. That said, same-alliance status matches have happened before and US remaining -- or not remaining -- within * Alliance is subject to some speculation.
