Instructions by gleff on page 1

gleff posted awesome step by step instructions (I performed the CO transfer 5 minutes ago!) on page 1. I called (713)/952-1630 per the number on his post.

Thanks! gleff's solution just worked great after a 5-7 minute hold time. No hassles.

temporarily set any CC to your NWA account's Dining for Miles service and do one small idine transaction for a total of $2.80 and you will get 28 miles. That's 5k on the nose. You will now have enough for I think 1 one-way ticket between islands on Hawaiian Air should you even go to the Pacific. Always good to have that laying around just in case. If not, someone in the cupon connection would take it off your hands in some sort of trade for sure!
You could also use it for a couple mag subscriptions using magazines for miles, of course. All this has probably been said but I was out of the loop a while. Too much baseball lately. I love it!

GO SOX!

1. Is there any name mathching? Can a family member with a different last name transfer miles from CO or UA to my AGR account, and can I transfer from my AGR to someone else's OP or MP account?

2. If yes to 1, is there any reason you can't do CO>AGR>CO (someone else's OP account)? Beats mileage transfer that CO offers for a fee.

I tried to move miles from daughter's Midwest account to my AGR account (same last name). No dice.

Maybe she (age 4) called Midwest and told them "no way!"

How did you find out the transaction was rejected? From Midwest or from Amtrak?

Thanks.

I e-mailed to transfer miles from CO to Amtrak. They replied after a few days saying no problem, we'll transfer the miles in 7 to 10 days. A few days later, miles were pulled from CO but not deposited in Amtrak (yet). Is this normal or should I start worrying that my miles have been lost?

I have done three CO-->Amtrak transfers in the past, and every time they immediately deducted the CO miles, and the Amtrak miles appeared on a Monday. So don't start worrying until Monday!!! I just did another xfer this week, so I will be checking my acct on Monday also!!!!

A reminder for everyone - it's getting close to the end of the year, so don't forget to do your 25K to United, if you haven't already!!!!!!!!!

United miles transferable?

So what is the best way I can use my unusable 15,000 United miles? I am not planning to fly United in the near future and would rather use them for car rental or hotel stay. Any tips?

If you have a Diner's Club card, you can transfer miles from United or American to Diner's Club Rewards points. From there you can transfer to just about any airline. I've only done this with American, but you will lose 50% of your miles when you convert back (2 miles = 2 DC points = 1 mile). Diner's does have promotions sometimes where you will get better than 2 points/1 mile.
