I've read through this thread and am still a little confused. Can anyone help me out on this question?

I am currently a Premier Elite on UA that I assume will end at the end of this year since I will only have one flight through UA this year.

Are there any airlines that I can get to match my UA status before it expires (would love US Air but from the thread it looks like they don't match and Star Alliance usually don't match other Star Alliance)? Any way I can get UA to not expire my status at the end of the year?

Your status actualy ends in Febuary and if you want to keep it come January I would email UA and ask if you can have a challenge to premier executive and do some mr's

Any idea whether I'd me matched to Elite+ status, starting 2009? Is there a CO email address I could write to for a preliminary assessment/advice, before sending in all the documentation?

Thanks for your help!
Yes write an email to [email protected] and explain your situation and they will write back with instructions.

Thanks. And do you know who will match UA's premier status? I couldn't really decipher that from this thread as they weren't listed (which may mean no one matches)

Elite / Elite Plus on OnePass

Thanks Tom92591. I just wrote to OnePass, we'll see what they say.

In the meantime, I've realised that Gold level on OnePass is always Elite and never Elite Plus, regardless of whether one lives in the US or elsewhere (unlike Flying Blue, where Gold is Elite Plus for those resident in Europe).

Should I accept a status match to One Pass Gold (Elite) if that's what they offer me? I've seen that would not give me lounge access, which I'm not too happy about. But other than that, what are the major differences between OnePass Gold and One Pass Plat? I guess a major issue for me would be complimentary upgrades for example... Would would my chances be, as a Gold member?

Pretty much all airlines that status match will give you silver and in my opnion that is never realy worth a status match. However if you fly ask UA for the challenge like I did and usualy fly 12k miles in 90 days they will make you 1p.

Lan Chile elites get free upgrades, which can be quite valuable and the Oneworld status means free lounge access with AA, BA and others.
Only LAN Comodoro (OW Emerald) get Free Upgrades (the lower levels get a couple of one-way coupons). Also, in order to upgrade you must be traveling on a minimum fare $$$, no matter what Elite level you are (and they just raised the minimum fares).

I will be CO Platinum as soon as they credit my AF flights from Oct. (don't know what's taking CO so long). I'm planning a trip on DL next April using SkyMiles. Thinking about trying to get NW to status match Platinum. 3 questions:

1) Will NW status match CO since currently same alliance?
2) DL says it waives baggage fees for Medallion but not partners. What about NW since not merely a partner?
3) DL will waive $100 change/redeposit fee on award ticket for its own platinum members. Would they do it for NW?

Since the general comment in this thread is that DL wouldn't match Platinum for Platinum, matching to NW would be great if it gives me 1, 2 and 3. Otherwise, maybe I should just go for DL's middle tier (if they will match CO) and get 2 but not 3.

By the way, anyone know if DL waives baggage fees for Medallion only or also traveling companions? CO's website is explicit that it applies to everyone on same itinerary but unclear from DL.

Last question, although a bit unrelated -- I'm hoping to book my family's DL award tickets from both my wife's and my accounts (to use up her miles since she doesn't travel much on them). But I presume that that would mean that if we needed to change or redeposit, we'd have to pay two $100 fees since they would be from two accounts. Anyone know if there's a way to solve that?

Thanks.

Anyone know when (or how for that matter) DL updates its systems to recognize NW Elite Status. I was just matched into NW Platinum (based on AA Exec Plat) and I am also DL GM. So in order to take advantage of recipricol status for upgrades I want to change my FF# on my existing itineraries to the NW Platinum.

Does this happen on Saturdays, as the normal DL status updates do?

Does the 12k has to be on UA-metal, or it sufficient with *alliance? (Or at least LH us-europe?)

Can you only match to an airline once? Or will they let again in a few years?

Status matched at Delta in 3 business days

I faxed my letter for a status match to Delta. I am platinum at American Airlines. I logged into my account today and saw that I have been given gold membership. It only took 3 business days for Delta to match status.
