jmartin,

Maybe you should pop that question over to the AA forum. Even I don't know. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

From the current NAEC T&C:

"41.A stopover is permitted in each direction at one connecting point on British Airways and British Airways joint awards round trip travel awards.
a)Unlimited stopovers are permitted on “Create Your Own oneworld TM
”travel awards.
b)No stopovers are permitted on other Executive Club airline partner travel awards."

That would seem to preclude the Seattle stopover.

Thanks for the info! Makes my decision/planning much easier.

A stopover in one direction is allowed on BA miles used for a Qantas reward. I recently booked in C from NYC and am stopping over at LAX for a month on the trip back from MEL. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

PROMO CERTIFICATE STATES:"PLEASE ALLOW 6-8 WEEKS AFTER THE SUBMISSION END-DATE OF MARCH 31,2003 FOR DEPOSIT OF MILES IN EXECUTIVE CLUB ACCOUNT."

GUESS WE SHOULD LOOK FOR THE MILES TO POST AROUND MID MAY...

Long? This is short given BA's record of promo's. I am still waiting for year old promos to get posted, no mistake, just "processing time". I trust a lot of you (Nologic excluded) don't have much experience with BA http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Anyone care to speculate on when the next test drive offer might be? I heard they did a similar one (different car) two or three years ago, no?

Also, do you think these test drive promotions have anything to do with BA cutting off new enrollments to the Executive Club (unless one flys on BA)?

My thinking is this: Huge databases are extremely valuable for marketing purposes, so is BA cutting off new enrollments to preserve the integrity, purity and value of its Executive Club database? One of the desired affects of this would be eliminating those people who would join simply to test drive a couple of cars for a quick 10K or 20K in miles, right?

OK, we have a household account which should be receiving 10K miles x 4 in a few months. I have read at length many details of the BA EC upcoming changes both on flyertalk and BA's website. It seems the 40K off-peak for Europe is gone, but the 25K award on AA (in US) is the same. However, I've seen asked by others but not answered on the BA board about the 40K First Class (continental US) award changes. It wasn't specifically listed on the chart, will it possibly stay the same... or will it be double or triple the 25K award?

I do not think that there was a test drive offer in the US 2-3 years ago. There was one offer in the US maybe 7-8 years ago.

And everytime it seems that there is a "hot" promotion, the next thing we know is that the program has been severely devalued. True for Goldpoints. True for Hilton. True for BA.

So when should the next hot offer arrive - hopefully never, as long as the existing benefits are not cut.
