Littleleaguemom: I called my Fridays (SAT) and you are right. No points for gift certs. Thanks for alerting us! But, there is good news at least here. The manager said he could over-ride. He said I could prepay for a couple of dinners and he could grant the points when I did.
I have found this Friday's to be very cooperative in working with my goldpoints/ radisson account. In the past they have split our tickets to top off my husband's and my accounts.
We eat there about once a month. They are always very accomodating as far as goldpoints go. That keeps my loyalty with them.

I just spoke with Nancy @ Goldpoints and she also said that tomorrow it's going to 8:1 vs. 4:1 today.
I am glad I checked FT today as I transferred all my points to American today at 4:1 ratio.
Nancy said that it is Radisson that made this change. Not GoldPoints.
Thanks for the heads up.
Sorry to hear this bad news.

I just called and redeemed all my points (1,400,000)...Phone rep didn't sound to sure but said 8:1 points starts may 1...
she said we would "get something in the mail"...
my question to the board: I redeemed 1.4 million points today...but does the daily limit mean that some (most) of my points will be "redeemed" after may 1st AT 8:1???
I feel a "hastle" coming on!!

When I redeemed last night, the rep hadn't heard about the change to 8:1 but he was very helpful. I got a confirmation number along with the number of miles to be posted to my Delta account before hanging up. Confirm the # of miles you're getting from your goldpoints when you get your confirmation and you should be all set.

Just was assured by GP rep that some things would be changing tomorrow but the 4:1 ratio was not one of them. GP reps were told Radisson would be sending out letters about when the rate would change. Nothing definite on a date yet. Being a trusting soul,
I immediately transferred all my miles and got a confirmation number, extension and name along with an assurance that all my miles would be moved today at the 4:1 rate. I just figured it wasn't worth the risk.

I just moved my paltry 86000 to my BA account. Initially I forgot toget a conf# and called back to get it. The rep I spoke to the second time told me that He canno say when the redemption will change from 4-1 but it would happen in the future.
Make sure you get the conf# and the name of the person and also call back to check if the points haven been "deducted" today April 30th. Thats the key suppose.
Edited to add that my account reflects the new point balance after the redemption.

Many Thanks to all of you for the update on unacceptable business practices by both Goldpoints and Radisson.Just when one starts to even think of taking Flyer Talk for granted I am reminded of the importance and generous helpful contributions from others.Thank you very much to all for what might have been a loss of 50% to my account.
How lucky I was just doing my usual Flyer Talk surfing!!!!
Imagine if a bank where you did business decided to de value your account by 50 % one morning and not tell you before you had ample time to withdraw or close your account.
This will leave a taste in my mouth to not do business with them ever again.Nothing to do with the terms and conditions change but the way they allowed it to happen. The competition will appreciate their criminal behavior for sure.Happier business dealings in the future to all with other companies
Cheers All

I was probably the biggest defender of Goldpoints during the Valuemags debacle, but there is an ocean of difference between incompetence and dishonesty. Fortunately for us, the Radisson folks are even less competent when dishonest than when they were honest.

I called back to get confirmation #...
They told me that they JUST received email that says the date of 8 to 1 change is now JUNE 1
Do we trust that is true???
My problem is the first csr set my account up as "automatic transfer", which second csr says should happen this sunday...So if June 1st is date, no problem...if May 1st is date then I forsee problems.!!!

My wife's GP account is set for autotransfer. I called GP and requested a manual transfer. Two hours later the points balance dropped to reflect my request. I didn't bother to ask about the May 1 versus June 1 deal as I didn't care at this point. Until GP brings back some really good merchants I don't plan on using them as a portal.

What a freaking mess.
The constant stream of contradictory-- but authoritative sounding (and therefore misleading)-- answers from GoldPoints reps just doesn't comport with minimal standards of what I would consider good business practices.
