Just got a GP mailing and thought it be the notice of change. It was an offer for their credit card.

This is unbelievable. Just called up GP, where the rep confirmed that Raddisson is switching to 8:1 redemption; I also didn't ask about the May 1 vs. June 1 thing, as I wasn't about to take the chance on getting misinformation.

On the plus side, the rep. was very understanding; she had to get a supervisor to do the transfer (to BA) because of the amount involved, but called me back a few minutes later to give me confirmation numbers and an assurance that these transfers would go through at the 4:1 level.

Thanks for the heads-up, everyone. I would've been out basically one business-class ticket on BA to Europe had I not happened to read this today.

I transferred all of my Goldpoints to AA way back in March. The points are already showing as having been redeemed. However, the AA miles posted do not correspond. In other words I'm missing AA miles that somehow were lost in the 'translation.' I called GP CS today and they confirm that they have redeemed my GP at 4:1 and that they will research why the correct AA miles were not posted correctly.

Do you think I need to worry about the 8:1 conversion given that the points were actually redeemed just not showing up on AA correctly?

After spending more than 3 months getting my GP points to reflect my purchases, now this!

I just got off the phone with Debbie at Goldpoints...she said that the conversion rate change goes into effect tomorrow as per Radisson's request, but that Goldpoints decided that they needed a greater heads up before switching the rate. they will be sending out either e-mails or letters to all their customers in the next two days stating that the redemption rate will change from 4:1 to 8:1 on June 1. In essence they will be allowing for a one month grace period. I decided not to take any chances and just converted my remaining points while I was on the phone with her. She was nice enough to point out that I was so close to 20,000 (19,825) that she would change my e-mail to get the bonus...but as I had just done that on April 1 she was having a hard time to get the computer to accept it. She logged out and back in for me and it took...thanks to her help I ended up with the 5000 mile transfer.

I just spoke with Gloria at Goldpoints who assured me that no changes would be made without "ample" notification. She stated that Radisson is planning to change the point redemption values, but she stated she had no specifics. Not wanting to take a chance, however, I converted all of my points to AA miles!

Man -- I missed it by half an hour. I just read this thread for the first time and immediately picked up the phone to call GoldPoints to get my points out of there. Customer service just closed a half hour ago for the last time before they re-open on May 1.

I sure would have appreacited an email alert!

Let's hope the June 1 deadline is for real.

Folks, why did you have all these points in your account?????Didn't ClickRewards and countless others teach you any lessons? Did you wait for more bonus points after they lost their shirts on the Valumags deal?

I don't get it. I was on autotransfer...when the VM and Hallmark points finally posted I requested a manual transfer...I sleep better that way:-)

Whether or not we have a ratio increase against us, I think the best use of miles is for the dining certificates or Radisson stays. What hotel can you stay at for 5000 miles or even 10000 under the new point structure.

Anyone in DC up for a trip to TGIF's? I don't think I am the only one who has dining certificates and I could sure use a drink this weekend. And they just happen to have one at DCA.

As of 9:50am EST, Radisson's site still shows 4 to 1 conversion for miles.

Their website also showed the higher point
levels on January 1st, and we all know how
that turned out. I'm not saying the 4 to 1
exchange rate isn't valid. But I also would
be careful about trusting their webpage.

The Radisson/GoldPoint web page also stated to allow 30 days for your points to post. Yet they came out with an email after the fact that changed the 30 days to 30 business
days.

Better "safe than sorry" with this group.

I just cut and pasted the following quote from this official Radisson Gold Rewards link: http://www.radisson.com/RAD/Gold_Rew...p?P0=&P1=rules
"Only a Radisson Gold Rewards member, who has had a Gold Points-earning stay at any participating Radisson hotel in the past 12 months, is entitled to convert Gold Points to airline miles at a minimum of 4,000 points at an 8:1 ratio, up to one million points per year. PARTICIPATING AIRLINE MILES PARTNERS: Air Canada, American, America West, Asiana, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Continental, Delta, EL AL, Gulf Air, Icelandair, Latin Pass, Mexicana, Midwest Express, Northwest, Qualiflyer, United, US Airways."

Note the 8:1 ratio, this sure seems like it's official to me...

That's something new...

Just transfered my remaining Gold Points to United with the help of Jim (nice guy). He told me that yes, the structure did change today, but that he would still transfer my points at the old 4:1 ratio. Only I had to use the new 4,000 min. increment instead of 2,000 so I ended up putting all of miles into 1 account instead of breaking it up. Thank God I read the posting today. Thank God I read flyertalk or I wouldn't have had any points to transfer in the first place.
