hey
again, i think this shows that valuemags.com has some of the best customer service i've seen!
thanks for posting that message!
PG: a tremendous idea. if they do that, then they won't have to worry about the "middleman" (i.e., goldpoints). one question: would it be they or the FF program or both who would limit the number of FF miles that could be earned? (i.e., like the kelloggs promo - 200,000 AA miles max)
cheers

We are sorry about the unexpected early end to the GoldPoints promotion.
It was not our decision and it took us by surprise just as it took you by surprise.
We will make sure that everyone that purchased magazines under the GoldPoints 450 promotion is awarded their points.
Thanks for making this promotion with GoldPoints a huge success. We look forward to running lucrative promotions like this in the future and we hope to work closely with the frequent flier community to make them successful and rewarding.

I got the e-mail, printed it, signed it, and faxed it back. But there is no place on the e-mail that identifies me. How do they know when I fax it back who I am? I provided my e-mail, so I hope that is good enough.

I just spoke with Amanda at GoldPoints, and was advised that the 450 deal is still on until the 31st (provided that you know about it). If, by chance, one's account is credited with 150 instead of 450, she advised to just fax a copy of the receipt and GP's would make the adjustment.
She stated that the GP's site has been updated to reflect 150 for those new site visitors who are not aware of the former 450 promo.
Is this clear...or does it just muddy the water?
Sounds like we have a brief reprieve.

I got this from Goldpoints CSR:
Thank you for contacting Gold Points Rewards. The triple points
promotion does go to 12/31/01. If you do place an order with
Valuemags.com, please fax in your receipts to us at 1-763-212-5747 with
your name and account number on the fax. Please also note on your fax
that you may have only received 150 points per dollar spent and not the
450 points per dollar.
Then once we receive your fax, we will research your order.
Thank you.

Here is my situation:
I placed an order on 12/25 for less than $400. I got all the email receipts fine. Then today I received the "cancellation policy" email which clearly states that it should be signed by people who ordered MORE than $400...So, what do I do? I sent an email to Shari about this, I 'll wait to hear back from him (or is it her?) before I try out the new [email protected] email address given above.
What would you do? Ignore the "cancellation email" or fully comply with it anyway? All I want is my points @450 GPs posted and the mags sent to the people in my next year's Christmas list
All I know is that if some of us get screwed out of our 450 GPs, well, there would be a Tora Bora "bombing" sequel or what?

excellent.
what we need is someone to post a fax from goldpoints CS stating that the promo is still on!
but if the powers that be have declared the promo still on, why were people getting points posted at the rate of 150/dollar?</font>

Neal: search the name valuemags in all of FT and you'll find three postings. a mistaken posting in the wrong thread, the one above and an identical one in the radisson forum.
if i get an email back from them, i will let you all know

I'd be leery of a CS rep. at GoldPoints saying the promo is still on. There are already contradictory postings on FlyerTalk that indicate other GoldPoints reps. have said only 150 points/dollar. In addition, the valuemags rep who posted said the offer has been pulled. Buyer beware!
