I decided not to use any of the discount codes. This way I spend more $ and get more miles per magazine, and I maximize their income on the transaction so that the deal is more likely to continue. I suggest that others do the same, and pay full price. </font>
FYI, GoldPoints are awarded on the amount of the purchase before the coupon is applied.

Is the 4:1 redemption ratio also only available by phone, and not on the goldpoints web site?

</font>
Go to the Radisson site (after you have read thisthread and the numerous similar threads in the Radisson forum). 4:1 is the standard redemption rate.

OK, I think I get it. All redemptions have to be done by phone, unless they are of the pre-authorized automatic transfer type. Right?

will goldpoints transfer miles into American Airlines? their site says they only support Delta, Northwest, and US Airways.

IF YOU ARE BUYING MAGAZINES FOR THE MILES PLEAS READ!!

I contacted a non-profit organization which collects magazines (I think for the homeless.) But they just responded to me today and I'm finished buying subscriptions. If any of you will be buying more magazines, perhaps you can help them out.

Here's the reply I just received from "ReRead."

Thank you. We would greatly appreciate magazine donations. We need mostly
magazines of general interest, such as Time, People, and Parent's Weekly,
Woman's Day, etc.

Please send the magazines to:

Thank you very much for your interest in helping us.

Say folks, I 99% sure I am going to do this deal but want to ask a question first. Which airline has the best FF program to get me from the U.S. (PHX) to Australia in FC or possible Business? How many miles? I'm a plat on CO if that is a consideration. Thanks.

I have a similar question, which airline has the best FC award to Australia.

BA has a great FC product and going the long way around it costs 175K (through their executive club, well over 200K through AAdvantage) but I am not sure if London onward is on BA metal or not? How do the cheaper (in terms of Mileage cost of award) Cathy Pacific and Quantas FC stack up against BA's product with regards to travel to the land down under?

Is BA the only Oneworld partner that has much more expensive mileage awards through AAdvantage than it does through its own program?

Let me get this right - 4 to 1 rewards over to AA and AA gives out lifetime GOLD for 1 million miles - doesn't matter were they come from. They don't have to be actual flown miles.

Is this correct?

RayK:

That is correct. 2 mil gives you lifetime plat.

use AADV, redeem on CX for 140k, e.g.,
anyAAport-lax-hkg-syd
(u can also do this via BAEC, but there is no AA connection if your city is not served by CX, i.e. LAX/SFO/JFK/YVR/YYZ)

and btw, CX F product is BETTER than BA's!
check oneworld forum for related info,
and cx's forum for comments on the products
(and don't forget the famed Wing in HKG)
i would chose cx over ba even if the miles required are the same

how are you people who are ordering 18k or even 2k worth of magazines finding all your mags? i bought a little over $1000 worth and i pretty much picked out anything i might remotely be interested in reading. are you just buying everything they have or multiple subs? or do they have other magazines than what they list in their categories?
