I ran MileTracker this afternoon and it retrieved my accounts just fine. I was expecting some miles to credit, so reran it about 6 hours later. Now, it says I have no users and no accounts. Noooooo! What happened, and where should I look for those files?

The file you want is MileTracker.settings

I'd do a search on your hard drive to see if there is an older version that has your accounts that you can copy back to the main directory.

This happened to me once and I didn't have an old file and had to rebuild. Argh.

Given the tremendous stability of this program I've learned once a week to use its Backup Settings function and save to a file outside of the program's directory.

Thanks. I searched; sadly, there was none. What a pain to reenter all my family accounts and figure out all our passwords.

I guess this is what I need to do as well. At least as a start, I have now copied the file to MilesPort so that I can access it either place.

I've heard several instances of this happening but try as I might I just can't reproduce it. Definitely backup the MileTracker.settings file (likely in C:/Program Files/MileTracker) but there's no need to do it weekly unless you're adding or modifying accounts weekly. If anyone has had this happen more than once and they see a pattern, please share!

I've had it happen more than once, I've posted about it before. I know it happened to me when the program was frozen and I killed the process. Hasn't happened in awhile, but I think the freezing at one time was related either to an ad or a program update process.

I keep several backup files, I don't back up weekly but probably every few months and certainly if I add someone's accounts to the program (where it wouldn't be easy to recreate).
