As others have mentioned, I keep the boarding stubs until I see the flight credited. I've had problems with UA credit for US flights, even when my US# is on the boarding pass. It took over 3 months to remove the UA flights in order for US to credit it. I just checked my US account and it is still not there for a 2/24 flight. My other problem is DL-NW-CO. I have my NW# on CO and NW flights up until boarding, where my Silver status on NW may mean an upgrade. If I don't get upgraded, then I hastily switch at the gate prior to boarding to my DL#. This is a pain for the GAs and for me since my DL Gold status is meaningless for CO and NW upgrades.
If I have anything but my CO# on the legs of my CO metal that involve Continental Express flown by Colgan air, I get no credit, but CO is giving me CO credit after my requests for the longer connection legs, although those were already credited with DL mileage. I'm not complaining since the net result is more miles than I am supposed to get. I don't think it is accidental, since they have credited me this way three times with no credit for IAH to DRT on Colgan but RDU to IAH mileage on both DL and CO.

Now, on the DL website, this is not explicitly clear; all it says is:
10Continental Airlines:
Mileage may be earned on Continental-coded flights operated by Continental, ExpressJet, Continental Micronesia, or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in E, M, G, or P class.

The Northwest site is a little clearer, as it specifically says miles are earned only on:
Earning/Redeeming Miles
All Continental, Continental Express and Continental Micronesia-operated flights.
All Continental, Continental Express and Continental Micronesia-operated flights.
Now, CO does award miles for "Continental Connection" flights, so you should email them back and ask for retroactive credit in OnePass for all those IAH-DRT flights they never credited you for. Unless you don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, that is.

I've been having lots of trouble getting miles from a Jan (!) Biz cls trip on SQ to post to my DL account. I've sent in the boarding passes, which DL acknowledges receiving. They say they have sent the paperwork to SQ. I've called every month and they keep telling me to allow another 30 days. I'm getting fed up and wonder if anyone has any advice on how to escalate?
Thanks,

Still, it seems that it wouldn't take that much effort to put in place better systems that could prevent many of these errors, don't you think?

I think it sometimes is on purpose
I've had two sets of flights on Emirates in First and Business Class on a First Class ticket. For all 7 segments I gave them my United number and it printed on my boarding passes. Not one of the segments credited! For an airline that prides itself on customer service and quality, this is pretty bad.
For the first 3 segments, I had to fax the boarding passes in. Now United changed the rules and I have to send the originals in. I think it's an annoying element. It seems like the international carriers are worse at complying with automatic credit.

Wash Post story now online
I queried this forum for comments about getting missing FF credit.
My story for the Washington Post ran yesterday and can be found at:

A sidebar on how to get your miles appears at:
