SBC-- does the same thing work if I use it at an WAMU or BofA ATM and show it as a credit card rather than a checking account?

Another website

In the thread that discusses the CharterOne scheme the following website is mentioned: http://www.theothersideoftraveling.com/

Some of the text there is almost identical to what's on getfreeairmiles.com. Someone's copying!

No, you actually have to go into the bank and request this from a teller.

$97. Hmm. I wonder what I could charge for access to my website? In fact, I wonder what I could charge him for access to my website?

That site is run by FTer Marathon Man.

Given his legendary verbosity, ant plagiarism would surely be easily spotted.

Like a lot of you, I was interested but had some specific questions which I asked only to receive computer generated replies that did not address my questions. If you can't get answers before you pay the loot I doubt you'll get much satisfaction after you pay.

They cetainly need a lesson in grammar. It's about the most poorly written piece I've ever read. Sounds like a two year old wrote it.

sigh
At least I know it's not one of my clients' websites.

Someone has been selling a way to make very simple sales website with basically the same layout as that one but with 0 security.

I read the pdf, exactly as I had thought. I know this isn't the first time someone has tried to exploit knowledge from FT for gain, and I am certain it won't be the last, but still, it's bothersome that someone would take something that was freely given and many collaborated on and then sell it. And it is poorly written.

Does it bother anyone else that this "system" is being advertised right here on FT?

I appreciate the need to sell advertising in order to begin to cover the costs of running this amazing and valuable site, and I like seeing the creative use of relevant advertising to our specific demographics. That said, it makes me a bit uncomfortable to see information that was freely posted by this community repackaged and then marketed back to us. I'd hate to see an FTer spend nearly $100, when a simple link to the "Earn miles by buying gift cards?" thread might have more information (although the "system" does offer an ING referral ).

The author gives a slight acknowledgement to the contributions of FTers:
This entire bag of tricks above was compiled by the efforts of
many great air miles fanatics online.
However, whether or not any of the text was lifted word-for-word from this site, I think more specific attribution is warranted, rather than simply referring to us as "fanatics." (Not that I'd necessarily disagree with that epithet...)

I suspect that Randy and his team had as little idea as we did about the content of this "course" until this thread started. I think we owe a big thank you to those who were ripped off by the site, but have chosen to share their experience and give the warning about what the "course" is all about.

The big question is whether Kirt Christensen (the "author" of the course) and MarathonMan (the FT'r who taught us all about these programs) are one in the same. Christensen gives an address in WA while MarathonMan says he's from MA. It would be a shame if someone has taken what MarathonMan has shared with us here and is trying to sell it, but it would shameful also if MarathonMan is disguising himself and now trying to sell on FT what is already publicly available here. I hope we'll hear from him.

Adding additional publicity to the gift card programs will propbably only hasten their demise as a means of getting miles.

JIMCHI: My gut feeling is that they're not related, and I really hope I'm right. It's interesting that Mr. Christensen apparently discloses his real address, as one of the appendices shows a scan of a Charter One envelope addressed to him.

Anyway, a Google search found lots of references to an "Internet marketer" named Kirt Christensen, but this was my favorite link:

http://www.marketers-hall-of-fame.co...ristensen.html
Clearly, these are most amazing: The kirt christensen websites showing right here, and you may have a certain feeling that kirt christensen may never seem the same after you uncover any hidden Kirt Christensen and website promotion truths you learn about enduring principles behind these top kirt christensen resources, principles you can can naturally begin to use even more deeply over time...

He's also mentioned on another quality site, http://www.howtogetrichontheinternet.com/
Kirt Christensen featured in...
Guaranteed Internet Profit$: How To Buy A Web Business, Finance It With It's Own Cash Flow, and Sell It In 18 Months For An $11 Million Gain!
I don't mean offense, and perhaps his secrets could indeed be worth $11 million....but Kirt, if you're reading this, I believe that you owe all of us an apology, especially to Marathon Man. Some of the appendix text (regarding activation of the cards, speed dial, etc.) appears to be lifted verbatim from his website. MM, any thoughts?
