GetFreeAirMiles.com -- anyone bought the "system?"

This ad came up on FlyerTalk:

www.getfreeairmiles.com/main.html

I wonder what the "secret little flaw" is that CEO Kirt Christensen alludes to, and whether his course is worth purchasing. I also wonder if he is a FlyerTalker!

Personally, I don't plan to spring the $97, but I am curious to know whether there are any tips in there that I haven't already seen, or will see, right here on FT! ;)

hmm

ok, i bought the "system", it really didnt tell me anything i didnt already know from my years on this board ;)

however he does give u an example, in detail, of how to get cheap points - he's done his hmework with it too.

$97 is a bit of a scam, if anyone wants to read it ( 3 .pdf docs) ill re-sell it to you for $20 paypal =)

Wouldn't that be a copyright violation?

IfItAintBoeing Jun 10, 2004 9:35 am

It might be that he will sell you his originals. That wouldn't be a copyright violation.

One can sell any thing one owns. It is just resale. And I can charge any price I wish. Could be more or could be less

Actually if you sell multiple copies of it you would be violating the copyright.

That's pretty much true -- the question is what exactly is it that you own. In most Berne Convention countries, with a creative work, you don't own it. You own a licence for a copy of it, with certain limited rights.

Wow - $97!

I am in the process of writing a comprehensive travel guide myself - but would never dream of charging more than $20 for it - tops.

It makes me wonder what it is - I already have a method of earning 10K miles/month for free - his method has a cost associated with it.

I also have some other methods that generate miles at about the cost levels he is talking about - but they aren't completely straightforward - would only work where certain banks have ATMs readily available.

And I wonder if he will really shut his website down after selling 500 copies - I bet he will just keep on selling it. It looks to me like he is an experiences online resaler with lots of advertising costs bringing people to his site - some of whom will pay his rip off rates....

After reading about the seminar, I am positive this is using the Charter One giftcards (why else would he specify US address, mileage earning credit card, $5,000 limit, card in spouse's name? You can get up to $5,000 of Charter One gift cards per month, that would be $10,000 with the spouse, exactly the amount he says you can get each month. And, I am sure he is using the ING account already talked about elsewhere on FT.

wanaflyforless Jun 10, 2004 12:12 pm

Also - he says it works with some Amex cards - I don't know of anything that works with Amex...

That's what I was thinking first - BUT:
1) His site says the miles will cost you something. I have never paid 1 cent for my charter one miles.
2) I don't think we FTers know of a single Amex that works with Charter One.

wanaflyforless Jun 10, 2004 12:38 pm

What a scam!

I paid the $97 and now its time to take advantage of his money back guarantee.

Its only the Charter One system he knows - he is not an exceptional writer - all the info included I know (and I even know the charter one system better than he does - free way verses small cost).... $97 for something he probably wrote in two hours!

Apparently the Amex "Business Platinum" card works for Charter One...that's the only thing he knows I didn't. He fails to mention the $300 annual fee! (And you can't get it as a personal card!)

wanaflyforless Jun 10, 2004 12:39 pm

Also Charter One can only be used for 10K a month if you have two addresses - not everyone does.

So, would be be kind enough tell us how you avoid the $2 cash advance fee or the $1 point of service fee with the CharterOne cards?

Take your card to your local bank and have them do a cash advance on the card for the full $500. They will swipe the card and have you sign the creditcard purchase slip. The banks I've been using are BofA and WAMU. It helps if you have an account with the bank and deposit the funds into your account. ;) .
