Looks like the BMO 30K points ($300 credit) offer got extended to JUNE!!
http://www.bmo.com/home/popups/perso...te-footnotes#9 Footnote 9: Applications must be received between September 24, 2013 and June 1, 2014. Full annual fee ($150) applies after the first year. Annual fees and all other applicable fees are subject to change. Alternatively if anyone can point me to a thread discussing this somewhere I'd appreciate it. I still have about $600 on my Capital One Aspire so I need to figure out how to use that as well! I'm pretty sure they have some weird restrictions. |

I don't think so. I applied for 3 Amex cards on the same day. I didn't use any browser trick or anything special. The first card was approved instantly and then I had to call for the other two, but in the end I didn't have any problem getting 3 personal Amex cards.

I finally applied for this last week before the end of the promotion (before
it was extended). In the past I read posts on the rfd thread and there seemed to be some confusion as to how to use the $300 credit. Can you simply make a travel related charge of $300+ on the card and then call to redeem it? Do you have to use whatever TA they are affiliated with? Are there any weird restrictions on the amount you charge? For example, if I buy a plane ticket for $400 can I claim the $300? How about Cuba? With amex travel you can't book Canadian charter flights to Cuba. Alternatively if anyone can point me to a thread discussing this somewhere I'd appreciate it. I have the Cap One and while you get your best bang for the buck with $650 or more spend its extremely worthwhile. I wanted 6 nights in Paris last September at the hotel of my choice. I didn't have quite enough in my reward bank prior to the trip but you have 90 days after the charge is posted to redeem. By the end of this period, I had more than enough to pay for the hotel. Asked for the amount to be "erased" and within 2-3 days it was done. Much better than the BMO IMHO. I can use my TA or book online myself without restrictions. Plus getting $100 worth of credit (if using $650 or more at a time) on your anniversary date almost pays for the annual fee. This is my go to card where AMEX is not accepted.
However it may be almost paying for itself, but the big draw back of course is only using it once you are over $600 to truly get 2% back and the fact with an accumulation like that miles can take you much much further. But we all have different preferences |
Any thoughts on the MNBA Alaska air card offered in Canada?

Post. Post. It's suggested to use the Great Canadian Rebates link to get a rebate that will mostly offset the annual fee. Yes, it's a great way to earn 25,000 points for use on a longhaul flight. Particularly good if you fly from YVR; still very good to have elsewhere though. |
The Alaska card also gives a companion coach fare with no restrictions, helped with a weekend trip I'm taking for a friend's wedding

MBNA Choice Privileges 24,000 offer back - till June 9, 2014
The 24,000 point promo is back. Last summer it was also available at GCR with $60 cash rebate. However, currently (since Aug 1, 2013) GCR is still showing it as 8,000 signup promo, so hopefully they will add this new 24K promo to their lineup soon.

Question about Amex SPG card.
With the US Amex SPG card you get 2 stay credits or 5 night credits so if you get both the regular and the business cards, you can get 4 stay credits or 10 night credits toward Platinum level. Does this same benefit apply for the Canadian version of the Amex SPG cards? I read the fine print but there is no mention of this benefit anywhere. Peter |

We unfortunately do not get the same benefits as the US do. There is however gold status that is acquired after 30k spend and a free weekend night certficate at 40k spend.
Thanks. Peter |
