If your income and credit rating can support, don't see why they'd reject it. Keep in mind the spend minimums. Personally, I would space them out so I don't take so many credit checks in such a short time.

There are 3 Amex cards that I am interested in. One that gives 30K Aeroplan points, another that gives 21K Starpoints, and still another that gives 25K MR points. If I applied for all 3 cards is it possible to get 3 cards or would Amex only approve the 1st application and decline the rest?

Peter

I would strongly recommend applying for only one card from AMEX at a time, although you can include other issuers if you apply on the same day (CIBC, TD, RBC, etc.). Just wait 3 months and then do the next AMEX card on your list. I personally feel that is much safer.

Thanks for the answers. Now that I know it is possible to have more than one Amex card, I think I will time the cards and apply for one at a time. Also great info on the Churning Amex in Canada thread. I didn't realize cancelling and reapplying (after certain amount of time) to get bonus points again was possible. But I think I will give that a try also. Thanks for the help.

Looks like the BMO 30K points ($300 credit) offer got extended to JUNE!!

http://www.bmo.com/home/popups/perso...te-footnotes#9

Footnote 9:
Applications must be received between September 24, 2013 and June 1, 2014. Full annual fee ($150) applies after the first year. Annual fees and all other applicable fees are subject to change.

Thanks for the heads up Jerry! Was going to reluctantly apply today, the original promo expiry date. Now I can put it off for a few more months, so I can move the cardholder window to align better with my future-planned travels!

Does this mean I can cancel now and churn this card again in june?

Yes. In my experience, AMEX will decline you after they approve the first card and you will be forced to wait anyways for 3 months since you get auto-declined if you have already been declined.

Is this a hard constraint? I have routinely applied for 2 Amexes in the same day and have not had a problem. Is this new?

Most recently with SPG personal and business Gold. They weren't auto approved -- I just had to verbally confirm my occupation and income over the phone.

This is the one benefit of obtaining cards with miles rather than the banks own "point currency" to be redeemed against travel. I have already churned the Alaska MBNA card three times as well as the AMEX MR cards.

Although the perks of the BMO elite card with its priority passes and 2% effective return are great and probably the best now for cash back cards, hard to justify keeping it at $150.

I'm not sure, but I also think there's a difference with personal and business cards as well. Maybe someone else can confirm.

I don't think so. I applied for 3 Amex cards on the same day. I didn't use any browser trick or anything special. The first card was approved instantly and then I had to call for the other two, but in the end I didn't have any problem getting 3 personal Amex cards.

Must all the cards be applied on the same day? What about a week later, or a month later? Will those be approved?

I also have three Amex cards. I applied in July november and December without issue and instant approval, if that helps.
