I've done it once for the 50k. But the card was also very useful for me to save 10% on BA flights. If you're travelling with your family, for example, that can add up to a pretty big saving. And, incidentally, paying for that trip on the BA card gets you get 2x BA points on BA ticket purchases and that kind of trip will get you going on the $9k spend. Not for everyone, but the card worked for me in the past and I'll likely get it again. |

Useful new feature on the CIBC mobile banking app.....instant free credit score!
|
I just went to the link for the Marriott Rewards sign-up, but saw nothing about the 1000 Aeroplan bonus miles. Is it still being offered?

Not looking forward to the dip from signing up BMO World Elite/Chequing/Savings account offer yesterday though, but its worthwhile for those Priority Pass Lounge passes (the lounge at YEG is actually not too bad) and the travel credit |

The promo was to last until December 31, 2017, reported one blog earlier. I dunno if this is a temporary bug, or if they've done something else. |
without have enough airmiles in account, how to check YVR-IAH how many miles required in Christmas time? I checked airmiles.ca only say start from 2600 miles, is there any other way to check?

GCR had remove TD Aeroplan VISA cards.
the link: https://www.greatcanadianrebates.ca/details/TD-Aeroplan-Visa-Infinite/ will get you: The merchant you were looking for no longer appears to be a part of our program. |

What it shows as the "starting from" in their mile chart is the standard AM ticket, and as availability dwindles or prices for certain flights go up, the miles required when you search the flights may differ. I don't think there's any way to check that without explicitly searching for the date / flights you want. |

Delta flights are absurd at 7,724 Air Miles. But American Airlines has six options at 2,600 Air Miles and $139.91 taxes. It may be better availability with two one ways. One way YVR-IAH on AC is 3,261 plus $121.23 but nothing direct and it leaves at 0615 hours. Later flights for 3,770. But again that's just one way. And ugh... 4,312 for your return plus $52.14 on AC. Nothing direct. No other carriers come up on the one ways for those dates. If you depart one day early and return one day later you could get 6,706 plus $189.14 round trip. But again there is a stopover each way. Here is the details for one of those options: Thursday, December 21, 2017 Air Canada AC 114 Air Canada 12:15 pm Vancouver Intl (YVR) 7:35 pm Toronto Intl (Pearson) (YYZ) 4h 20m Cabin:Economy Air Canada AC 7715 Air Canada *Operated by AIR CANADA EXPRESS - SKY REGIONAL 8:55 pm Toronto Intl (Pearson) (YYZ) 11:34 pm Houston (George Bush Intercontinental) (IAH) 3h 39m Cabin:Economy Airline Fare Rules Round Trip Per Person 1 Traveller 6706 reward miles + $189.14 taxes & fees Tuesday, January 02, 2018 Air Canada AC 8105 Air Canada *Operated by AIR CANADA EXPRESS - JAZZ 1:35 pm Houston (George Bush Intercontinental) (IAH) 4:49 pm Calgary Intl (YYC) 4h 14m Cabin:Economy Air Canada AC 229 Air Canada 8:00 pm Calgary Intl (YYC) 8:34 pm Vancouver Intl (YVR) 1h 34m Cabin:Economy Airline Fare Rules Total reward miles 6706 Total taxes & fees $189.14 |
Hi team!
What's the 'it' card that has airport lounge access? Is still the AMEX Platinum? Has anyone tried the other options like BMO World Elite MC? Won't be using it as much nowadays (maybe 2-3 visits annually?) |

Fairly sure premium economy was the highest you were allowed to book, no?
|

So, moving from great points offers to crummy points offers...
Is this the worst earning rate ever? Am I reading this correctly? http://i65.tinypic.com/ddn821.jpg If I spend $3,000 at this pub, that makes me eligible for... a $10 voucher ?!! |
I just received an e-mail from Best Western, advertising that their 60'000 signup promo is back! Awesome. I think their last "big" signup promo was 80k )or was it 60 as well? I dont trcall)but 60k for a no-fee card is great either way. Not sure if personalized but here's the details:
" • Get 20,000 bonus points†† after your first eligible purchase--that's already enough points for at least ONE FREE NIGHT** • Spend $1,000 or more within the first 90 days of account opening and get an additional 20,000 bonus points†† OR • Spend $2,000 or more within the first 90 days of account opening and get a total of 60,000 bonus points†" T&C's say nothing preventin repeat signups, here's the link: https://apply.mbna.ca/applicationfor...9&locale=en_CA |

So definitely find a way to generate $2000 in spend. |

Oh blah. I just signed up for the 40K offer not that long ago. :(
I don't know if I should try and sign up again right before the promo expires? |
Can you get a 2nd BW card if you already have one?

Yes you can. I did that last year.
The question for me now is whether I can get a 3rd BW Rewards card whilst holding 2. ;) |

The question for me now is whether I can get a 3rd BW Rewards card whilst holding 2. ;) I had 3 Alaska cards at one time in the past, and the most recent time that I had 2 concurrent BWR cards was a year ago. But based on MBNA's clandestine actions during our recent card apps, I'm now proactively closing down my MBNA cards before re-applying for a new one. If you try to get a concurrent MBNA card nowadays, it might still work, but I'd say it's a lot more YMMV these days. I'm sure I will be proven wrong with a recent datapoint, but would more than welcome the "stuff it" replies. :D |
JJJ, what you've said is definitely true regarding the Alaska cards. Those were being repeatedly exploited to no end, and we've all heard that MBNA is now enforcing the one-at-a-time rule for that card. I haven't heard any datapoints to suggest that this is true for the BW Card as well, though you're right that it's probably best practice to be more conservative than before when it comes to MBNA apps going forward.

I have ~20 MBNA cards in my bureau report, and wife has a dozen or more in hers. Maybe they are watching us 'burners' more closely than newer applicants and have flagged our accounts? |
BW hotel redemption starts at 8,000 points, so potentially you can redeem 7 nights for 56k points, which you can find plenty in Asia. That's one week worth of accommodation for free! :D

On my most recent application for the BWR card, MBNA spent a week pondering what my fate would be. Then auto-closed my then-existing BWR card, and then approved the new one. My wife was not so lucky. They declined her and lowered her other MBNA card limits...all this was done without any notifications from MBNA.
