What's the DL challenge website? I'm 1k, but have to fly a bunch of DL the second half of this year.. if I could snag a GM or DM match (not challenge), I'd do it in a heartbeat.. heck, no reason not to if there's no challenge. Depending on what the terms of a challenge might be, it could be worth it..
Help?

I'm considering a UA match. I'm currently Delta Gold and both because of travel patterns and prices, united seems intriguing, despite merger issues. Particularly, I have 4 transcon trips planned (two ticketed on UA, two still unticketed) where UA makes the most sense.
Couple questions:
1) How strictly is the 90 day window on matches enforced?
I have 20k of miles in those trips, enough to fulfill the challenge, but it's 94 days between the first and the last (Depending on how the redeye gets counted it might be 93).
2) Do I have any shot at getting the challenge to start exactly when I want it? It seems like some people have the challenge start quite close to when they contact UA, and others take quite a while.
If they are flexible about the couple extra days, I would want the status to start right near my flight. If they aren't, I can still make the challenge if I skip the first flight and start the challenge mid trip, since that would leave me with 18k of travel in 88 days. Unfortunately this would happen to leave me without status on a redeye.

Why not fight it? With EXP and DM, I'm not going to fly UA other than SFO-DEN unless they match to 1K. And I don't really care about *G as I'm more concerned with domestic travel. Plus I'm intrigued by the continuing blatant lies. They are either really stupid or think I'm really stupid. Hey, if they won't match to 1K, just tell me. Don't make up something, again and again.
P.S. This is a good example of the type of customer service we have come to expect at UA since the CO merger and system integration. Get used to it if you actually plan to fly UA.
P.P.S. If you had actually bought $50k worth of tickets I could understand your frustration. But at this point you have $0 loyalty to reward, and certainly don't deserve GS any more than a real 1K who has earned it with BIS miles. So accept the very nice gift of status that you have received - or fly elsewhere. No sympathy here.

You may be right but you are also wasting your time. Why would you think that an airline would pay attention to your request? They make their mind up, that's it. Unless you are booted off a plane and have a media story to press your case, you will get zero traction by continuing to harass the customer service reps.

I was reporting my experience, specifically that after two CS reps were either too stupid to know the facts or just lied to me, I finally got an answer... no status match for EXPs. Was it that difficult to tell me? As for the supposed wonderful gift of Platinum, I flew one SFO-DEN roundtrip (upgraded to First) and won't be back any time soon. Indeed, I flew Frontier Y on our last trip and it was more enjoyable.http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/front...rst-class.html

Also, you don't earn any rollover for any MQMs under 25K, even if you're gifted Silver.

Yesterday, I decided to write back to UA and tell them that their 1K status (not Premium Platinum) is equivalent to EXP and repeat my request for a match to 1K. Just received this amazing reply.
Hello Mr. SFO777,
Were always glad to hear from Premier Platinum members like you.
Thanks for writing.
United's Premier 1K status is the equivalent to American Airlines Concierge Key.
Thanks for participating in the MileagePlus program!

At least they are consistent.
You, as an AA customer, were lied to when asking for a status match on UA.
At the same time, actual long-term loyal UA customers were also lied to, big time, after the merger of UA & CO took place.
It is encouraging to see that the new UA management is not limiting their false statements to only those of us who were with them for many years.

Can someone give me the run down on elite challenges/matches?
Thanks for moving my post.
Are there any non-match challenges on UA or DL? I see that AA will grant you status if you earn enough points in 90 days. For UA and DL, I only see that they will first match your status and THEN you must earn X points/miles in X time.
I currently don't have any status with anyone, but I'm taking a few large trips later this year and want to take advantage of challenges and if I need status, I can't do that except with AA....
Also, is it possible to pass the challenge if I book through BA? For some reason, the AA price for E+ to india in october is much higher than when I use BA's site, same flights. $2200 vs $7000...the challenge is for points earned, so couldnt I just tell BA my AA # and they'll credit my AA account and earn those points?

Hi. Do any airlines in the three major alliances still offer status match, whether as an advertised programme, or non-advertised ?
I am PE for Life with AF/KL FB (Elite Plus with ST). I used to have good status with *A and OW, but then just focused on AF/KL with their 100% bonus and all that. Though I could attempt to get status with someone else, if AF/KL is not good as a 'source' airline.
If there is any airline in *A or OW (or even ST though not so useful for me, but would not mind DL for example) that might offer status match, I hope someone can let me know.
Though I guess they might match status, but not offer life status, right ?
